Implementing the Prime Minister's direction on promoting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide, on November 13, 2024, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 2261/QD-UBND on the establishment of a Steering Committee to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.

Tan Son District Red Cross Society presented a Humanitarian House supported by the Provincial General Hospital to Mr. Phung Van Giap's family, Tan An area, Thu Ngac commune, Tan Son district.

Accordingly, comrade Bui Van Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee is the Head of the Steering Committee. Comrades: Nguyen Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Huy Ngoc - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Pham Thi Thu Huong - Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs are Deputy Steering Committee members.

Leaders of the Provincial Police, the Provincial Military Command, the Departments of Finance, Construction, Planning and Investment, Natural Resources and Environment, Information and Communications, Agriculture and Rural Development, Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Provincial Ethnic Committee, Phu Tho Newspaper, the Provincial Radio and Television Station, the State Bank of Vietnam, the Provincial Branch, the Bank for Social Policies, the Provincial Branch, and the People's Committees of 13 districts, cities, and towns are members of the Steering Committee.

The Steering Committee is responsible for advising, proposing plans, solutions, and specific and effective methods to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the whole province. Three programs are implemented synchronously, including housing support for people with revolutionary contributions; housing support according to national target programs; eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for people; in which, priority is given to eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for people with revolutionary contributions from the State budget.

According to statistics from the Department of Construction, it is expected that by 2025, the whole province will have 1,391 poor and near-poor households in need of housing construction support. Of which, 1,000 households will need to build new houses, and 392 households will need to repair and renovate. The areas with the highest number of poor and near-poor households registering to remove temporary and dilapidated houses include: Yen Lap district with 272 households, Doan Hung district with 236 households, Thanh Son district with 194 households, Tan Son district with 193 households, Thanh Thuy district with 119 households... The areas with the lowest number of households registering for housing support are Phu Ninh district with 5 households, Viet Tri city with 8 households.

The Steering Committee ensures the organization and implementation of housing support policies for poor and near-poor households in the area in accordance with regulations, promptly, in accordance with local conditions, ensuring support for the right subjects, for the right purposes and effectively, striving to complete in 2025.
