At the conference organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Ha Tinh Journalists Association reported on the results of the emulation movement to build a cultural environment in local press agencies in recent times.
The conference was chaired by Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Nguyen Duc Loi; Head of the Association's Working Committee - Vietnam Journalists Association Vu Thi Ha; Comrade Tran Minh Ngoc - President of the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association, Director of Nghe An Provincial Radio and Television Station.
Continuing the conference program, on the afternoon of October 5, in Vinh City (Nghe An), the Vietnam Journalists Association organized a preliminary review of 1 year of the emulation movement to build a cultural environment in press agencies and guide the implementation of the Charter of the Vietnam Journalists Association; summarize the work of managing members who are reporters of press agencies residing in localities. Attending the conference were Director of the Department of Press and Publishing (Central Propaganda Department) Tong Van Thanh; representatives of leaders of provincial and municipal journalist associations, and leaders of press agencies in the Central Highlands - Central region. Attending the conference on the Ha Tinh delegation were Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department - Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association Nguyen Xuan Hai; Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association Vo Xuan Bau; Editor-in-Chief of Ha Tinh Newspaper Nguyen Cong Thanh and representatives of a number of press agencies residing in the area. |
Implementing the emulation movement to build a cultural environment in press agencies, over the past year, provincial and municipal journalist associations have actively implemented, organized emulation launching ceremonies, signed emulation covenants in emulation clusters, branches, journalist clubs, and affiliated journalists.
Head of Association Affairs Department - Vietnam Journalists Association Vu Thi Ha reported the summary contents at the conference.
At the same time, increase the inclusion of cultural journalism content in association activities, conferences, seminars, and talks; combine the building of a cultural environment with the content of political, ethical, professional and technical training and development; raise awareness of one's responsibility in the "mission of a writer" with "a bright mind, sharp pen, and pure heart".
Through the emulation movement, many press agencies and associations at all levels have had positive changes in both awareness and action. Many press agencies have identified prominent and urgent issues to focus on solving such as: rectifying discipline, work discipline, professional ethics, promptly rectifying inappropriate statements on social networks by some journalists.
Permanent Vice President of Ha Tinh Provincial Journalists Association Vo Xuan Bau: Closely following the directives and instructions of superiors, directly from the Vietnam Journalists Association, Ha Tinh Journalists Association chaired the conference, organized the signing and emulation agreement "Building a cultural environment in press agencies" between the Office of Ha Tinh Journalists Association, Ha Tinh Newspaper, Ha Tinh Radio and Television Station, Hong Linh Magazine.
Regarding the implementation of Decision No. 979-QD/HNBVN dated April 6, 2018 on the activities of members who are resident reporters in localities, in the past 5 years, the provincial and municipal journalists' associations have completed procedures to receive 1,021 resident reporter members; proactively coordinated with competent authorities to review and grasp the number and list of members who are resident reporters in localities.
In addition, 27 provincial and municipal journalist associations have established 37 resident reporter branches; 36 provincial and municipal journalist associations have received 121 resident reporter members to work with the association's office branches; 25 journalist associations under the Vietnam Journalists Association have introduced 181 resident press agency reporters to work with local journalist associations.
Permanent Vice President of Phu Yen Provincial Journalists Association Doan Anh Kiet spoke at the conference.
Decision No. 979-QD/HNBVN has facilitated local journalists' associations in managing, inspecting and supervising the activities of their members who are resident reporters, creating positive changes, achieving very important results, contributing to limiting activities beyond control as well as promptly protecting the legitimate rights and interests of members; promoting the development of Vietnamese journalism and building a strong association.
At the conference, delegates analyzed and clarified the outstanding results, shortcomings and limitations in the process of implementing the emulation movement to build a cultural environment at press agencies and the press activities of members who are resident reporters. Delegates also proposed solutions and recommendations to more effectively implement the emulation movements and leadership documents of the Vietnam Journalists Association.

Speaking at the conference, Director of the Department of Press and Publishing Tong Van Thanh emphasized the important role of press agencies in social life, especially in the current context of information explosion and digital transformation.
Comrade Tong Van Thanh suggested that in the coming time, the Vietnam Journalists Association should continue to promote the role of the association, continue to guide and urge all levels of associations and branches to implement emulation movements, especially the movement to build a cultural environment in press agencies in line with meaningful goals; continue to include criteria in the emulation criteria of all levels of associations and branches and regularly evaluate, promptly reward and replicate typical examples and good practices. Thereby, fostering public trust in the press; enhancing cultural values in journalistic works and activities.
Comrade Tong Van Thanh also emphasized the contents related to the implementation of the charter, regulations and decisions of the Vietnam Journalists Association; at the same time, requested branches, association levels, and press agencies to seriously and effectively implement them.
