Vietnamese cultural industrial products such as fashion, video games, cartoons, and comics are increasingly known and loved by international friends. This shows that the creative talents of Vietnamese people can completely reach out to the "big sea".
Developing cultural industry from infrastructure
In recent years, the cultural industry has attracted more and more participation from businesses, workers, creators, etc. The strong participation of investors in implementing large cultural projects and works has enriched the picture of the development of Vietnam's cultural industry with many bright colors. The appearance of many new cultural works such as theaters, cultural parks, sports centers, etc., modern, large-scale, multifunctional, implemented in the form of public-private partnerships, shows that this is the right direction.

Sharing about the growth rate of the cultural industry, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said: One of the important contributions of these fields is the promotion of the image, identity and increasing the attractiveness and persuasiveness of Vietnam's cultural soft power. To date, Vietnam has been honored as the World's Leading Heritage Destination four times at the World Travel Awards 2023 after 2019, 2020, 2022. This shows the outstanding global values and attractiveness of cultural tourism - one of the 12 cultural industries to the international community.
However, attracting businesses to invest in cultural creative activities, production of cultural products and services is still limited, not attracting many investors' attention. In reality, the capital spent on creative investment is large but the ability to recover capital is slow, fragmented and has many potential risks from mechanisms, policies, management methods, to the behavior of the community and society towards each cultural industrial product.
Accordingly, the goal of forming key cultural industrial centers in large provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City from infrastructure has received attention. To form large centers, these cities must have important factors such as large cultural works and a network of creative, branded businesses, competitive enough to create many high-quality cultural products to participate in the domestic and international cultural market.
Ms. Ngo Thi Bich Hanh, General Director of BHD Film, Television and Video Content Production and Distribution Company, said that to build a cultural industry, it is necessary to build facilities for that industry, such as cinemas and film studios to develop the film industry.
Representing the brand that is always a pioneer in investing in building cultural infrastructure systems, Ms. Nguyen Thai Hoai Anh, Deputy General Director of Sun Group Corporation, shared: It is necessary to consider the task of planning cultural industries as well as developing plans to implement cultural industry planning in each period as a prerequisite task, an overall strategic orientation for the Vietnamese tourism industry.
For that reason, cultural industry planning needs to be carefully and systematically researched nationwide, then divided into each region, province, and unit in a synchronous and appropriate manner.
Need for preferential investment mechanism for cultural sector
To create a driving force to promote the strong development of Vietnam's cultural industries in the coming time, Dr. Doan Thanh No, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, said: Creating works is the first step, an important material in the development of cultural industries related to literature and arts. However, good and attractive literary and artistic works are not enough to contribute to the cultural industry. Artists not only devote their intelligence and effort to creating works, but also have to understand the market and public needs, and directly participate in the cultural industry chain.

From the position of units participating in the development of the film industry, many business representatives shared their concerns about support policies for businesses. For example, cinemas need to be discounted, or locations far from the center should be exempted from land rent, reduced land rent, reduced electricity and water bills for cultural businesses.
From the online creative space Hanoi Grapevine, Ms. Truong Uyen Ly gave her opinion: Creative spaces are closely connecting artists, media and bringing artists' works to the public. In fact, many Vietnamese creative spaces are attracting strong attention and excitement from the public to experience and participate.
Nowadays, creative spaces have had positive impacts such as creating new jobs, improving the landscape of the area, reducing pollution. Abandoned factories and vacant lots are turned into music venues, cafes, creating spaces for young people.
Creative spaces also help reduce waste pollution. Polluted spaces are transformed into fresh, clean and beautiful spaces. However, creative spaces face many difficulties that hinder their development, such as taxes, rental limits, etc. It can be seen that the major challenge in developing creative spaces and cultural industries in Vietnam is the lack of connection, lack of synchronization, and uneven awareness of the power of cultural industries.
As someone with a lot of experience in producing entertainment products such as directing beauty pageant stages, film festivals, reality TV shows, etc., director Hoang Nhat Nam said: With the recent growth rate, the cultural industry is being recognized as an economic sector with increasingly high competitiveness in both domestic and foreign markets, which shows that the Vietnamese cultural industry is successfully exploiting resources through its activities and gradually narrowing the gap and competitiveness with competitors around the world.
