This year's Math test was assessed as difficult and highly classified. At the exam site of Xuan Phuong High School (Hanoi), candidate Nguyen Khanh Chi said: "I was not confident with my answer. There were 5 questions that I couldn't do, so I randomly circled the answer.

This test is quite difficult compared to the ones I have done before, especially after question 30. Although it is still a familiar type of math, the questions are quite tricky. I set a goal of getting 9 points in Math, but in this situation, I can only get 7. Anyway, I have completed 2 subjects, I will try to do well in the remaining subjects.

The total number of candidates registering for the high school graduation exam this year is more than 1,071,000, an increase of more than 45,000 candidates compared to last year. Of which, the number of independent candidates is 46,978, accounting for 4.38%. The total number of candidates registering for exemption from the Foreign Language exam is 66,927, accounting for 6.25%; the most candidates are from Hanoi with 21,554 candidates; Ho Chi Minh City has 13,076 candidates.

In 2023, the whole country had 1,003,372 candidates taking the Math exam, of which the average score was 6.25 points, the median score was 6.6 points; the score with the most candidates was 7.6 points. The number of candidates with a score <= 1 was 123 (accounting for 0.012%); the number of candidates with a score below average was 217,093 (accounting for 21.64%).
