Lao Cai Industry and Trade Union directly manages 4,533 union members and workers working in 57 units and enterprises with trade union organizations. In the first 6 months of 2024, the Industry Union and grassroots unions have promoted their function of protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers; actively contributing opinions to agencies and enterprises to create jobs and increase income for workers.

The industry's trade union visited and subsidized 194 union members' families in difficult circumstances and 57 union members' children with serious illnesses (total amount of 297 million VND); coordinated to organize union meals for 350 union members; organized free medical examinations and cancer screening for hundreds of union members; provided funds to build union shelters; organized sports activities; propaganda and mobilization work to develop union members and build union organizations in non-state enterprises achieved high results. In the first 6 months of the year, 5 grassroots trade unions in non-state enterprises were established, recruiting 2,247 union members (achieving 468% of the plan)...

At the meeting, the representative of the Trade Union of the Industry and Trade sector proposed to the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the Department of Industry and Trade to support and create favorable conditions for investors from outside the province to invest and do business in the province; support the trade union of the industry to approach, propagate and mobilize the establishment of grassroots trade unions at enterprises outside the State sector; request the Department of Industry and Trade to soon have solutions and recommendations to all levels to put more mines into operation, ensuring adequate supply of raw materials and chemical production activities (including Duc Giang Chemicals One Member Co., Ltd., an enterprise under the management of the Trade Union of the industry).
