From 2011 to present, the Party Committee, the Military Region 5 Command, the Party Committees and commanders of agencies and units in the armed forces of Military Region 5 have thoroughly grasped and seriously implemented Directive No. 124 of the Central Military Commission Standing Committee and the Project, achieving many important results. Political education work has closely followed the tasks, implemented synchronously and comprehensively, constantly innovated the content, form, and implementation methods, and the quality of political education for the subjects has been improved.

Political examination results for the subjects: Officers and professional soldiers: 100% met the requirements, 93.5% were good and excellent; non-commissioned officers and soldiers: 100% met the requirements, 74.12% were good and excellent; new soldiers: 100% met the requirements, 76.5% were good and excellent; militia and self-defense forces: 100% met the requirements, 74.15% were good and excellent; reserve soldiers: 100% met the requirements, 73.46% were good and excellent.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussions, contributed many enthusiastic and responsible opinions, emphasized and added advantages, pointed out shortcomings and causes, and proposed and recommended many effective solutions to improve the quality of implementation of Directive No. 124 and the Project in the coming time. Leaders and commanders of agencies and units also actively exchanged and shared experiences and new ways of doing political education at their agencies and units.

Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Trinh Dinh Thach, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Military Region 5 acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the results of political education work in the armed forces of the Military Region in recent years. He affirmed that after 12 years of implementing Directive No. 124; 10 years of implementing the Project, political education work in the Military Region has been comprehensively and synchronously implemented, with many innovations and creativity, contributing to firmly consolidating the Party's ideological position in the armed forces of the Military Region; the results of the annual political education examination of the subjects all met the requirements, over 75% achieved good and excellent grades.

In order to continuously improve the quality of political education in the coming time, Lieutenant General Trinh Dinh Thach requested Party committees and commanders at all levels to continue to thoroughly grasp the Party's viewpoints and guidelines, the State's laws, directives, resolutions, and instructions from higher levels on political education work; strengthen the leadership and direction of Party committees, commanders, political commissars, political officers, and political agencies at all levels in promoting the implementation of the Project. Continue to strongly, comprehensively, and synchronously innovate the content, programs, forms, and methods of political education, in accordance with the reality of each subject and unit.
