Speaking at the incense offering ceremony, comrade Trieu The Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province, emphasized that through two resistance wars to protect the Fatherland, under the leadership of the Party and beloved Uncle Ho, millions of outstanding children from all over the country fought tenaciously and bravely sacrificed.
On behalf of the leaders of Hai Duong and Hung Yen provinces, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung thanked the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Tri province; and at the same time acknowledged and commended the attention and support of An Phat Holdings Group, Hoa Phat Hai Duong Steel Joint Stock Company, Chu Dau Ceramic Joint Stock Company... for contributing to the good implementation of the work of "repaying gratitude".
Before the souls of the martyrs, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung expressed his respect and affirmed that generations of leaders, cadres, party members and people of Hai Duong are willing to promote the fine traditions of their homeland, following in the footsteps of their predecessors. In the coming time, Hai Duong and Hung Yen provinces will continue to implement many policies to better care for families of policy beneficiaries and people with revolutionary contributions.
Among the nearly 64,000 martyrs of Hai Duong and Hung Yen, many are resting in martyrs' cemeteries in Quang Tri province. In particular, at the two national martyrs' cemeteries: Truong Son and Road 9, there are more than 1,000 graves of martyrs of Hai Duong and Hung Yen. Every year, the resting places of the martyrs are carefully cared for by the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee, armed forces and people of the two provinces, showing deep gratitude to the children who heroically sacrificed for the cause of fighting, national liberation and national reunification.
On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, An Phat Holdings Group, Hoa Phat Hai Duong Steel Joint Stock Company and Chu Dau Ceramic Joint Stock Company donated nearly VND5 billion to repair and renovate more than 1,000 martyrs’ graves at the martyrs’ graves of the two provinces in the two above cemeteries. The project was completed in 2 months.
On the same day, the delegation of Hai Duong province respectfully offered incense at the special national relic of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel.
50 years ago, for 81 days and nights, our army and people fought bravely and sacrificed to seize every inch of land from the enemy, achieving the victory of the Tri-Thien Offensive Campaign, liberating Quang Tri province and protecting the ancient citadel, creating an advantage at the negotiating table and being an important milestone in the overall victory of the Great Spring Victory of 1975.
The fresh wreath was released by the Hai Duong Provincial Delegation down the Thach Han River to pay tribute and express infinite gratitude to the heroic martyrs and our compatriots who fell in the fiery summer of 1972.
On this occasion, Hai Duong and Hung Yen provinces presented the "Gratitude" Fund to Quang Tri province with 200 million VND (100 million VND for each province).
Previously, on June 27 and 28, the delegation of Hai Duong province offered incense at the Vietnam - Laos Martyrs Cemetery (Nghe An) and historical sites: Truong Bon, Dong Loc T-junction (Ha Tinh) and visited the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap at Vung Chua - Yen Island (Quang Binh).
