Two recent victories in the Premier League have brought signs of recovery for Chelsea and Pochettino's team started confidently when entering the London derby with Arsenal. It was quite a pity for Chelsea when they played better than Arsenal for most of the match, leading by 2 goals after 77 minutes, but two goals conceded in just 7 minutes forced The Blues to share points with the "Gunners".
The Stamford Bridge team dominated the match after the opening whistle. In the 12th minute, Saliba handled the ball in the penalty area after a header from Mudryk. Referee Kavanagh, after consulting VAR, awarded Chelsea a penalty. From the 11m mark, Palmer successfully kicked the free kick to bring the opening goal of the match.
Arsenal's attack was not really impressive in the first half, the visitors only had two shots on target. In the first 45 minutes, Chelsea had 7 shots, but the home team at Stamford Bridge only had one goal from the 11m mark.
After a better first half, Chelsea continued to enter the second half with increased confidence. In the 48th minute, Mudryk surprised the fans when he shot from the left side of the penalty area, the ball went beyond Raya's reach and into the net. It was a shot from a tight angle and very difficult to score from such a position, but Mudryk succeeded, even a left-footed curler.
In the 57th minute, Raya almost became the culprit when the Arsenal goalkeeper passed the ball to Palmer in the penalty area. Fortunately, the Spanish goalkeeper rushed in and successfully blocked the opponent's shot.
Two goals and a good performance against their city rivals made Chelsea players somewhat complacent in the final stages of the match. In the 77th minute, goalkeeper Sanchez left his goal and cleared the ball inaccurately, Rice seized the opportunity to shoot from about 25m away into an empty net, narrowing the score to 1-2.
Rice's goal gave Arsenal the motivation to fight, the visitors fought back to find an equalizer. In the 84th minute, Saka made an accurate cross for Trossard to finish near the left post to score the equalizer 2-2. Trossard's goal helped Arsenal continue to maintain their unbeaten streak this season, however this was Arsenal's third draw after 9 rounds.
