Reporting at the conference, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Dan Phuong district Bui Thi Thu Hang said that in the 2023-2024 school year, the whole district has 55 schools, 1,088 groups and classes, 39,933 students; an increase of 16 groups and classes compared to the 2022-2023 school year. The total number of cadres, teachers and employees in the whole sector is 2,453 people. The rate of qualified and above-standard teachers accounts for 92.7% (of which preschool is 92.7%, primary school is 91.9%, secondary school is 93.2%).
The quality of online and in-person enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year remains among the top in the city. Of which, preschool level reaches 100%; primary level reaches 103.9%; secondary level reaches 100.2%. The ratio of students per class is guaranteed according to the regulations of the school charter.
In the 2023-2024 school year, kindergartens will continue to implement the theme "Building a child-centered kindergarten". Many schools are flexible, proactive, and creative in building a pedagogical environment and landscape suitable to the reality and conditions of the school, making the most of the spaces to create playgrounds, STEAM experience corners, culture, cuisine, folk games for children, etc.
At the general education level, schools effectively implement the 2018 General Education Program, especially for grades 4 and 8; organize teaching activities towards developing learners' qualities and abilities. At the same time, strengthen inspection and evaluation of teachers' teaching hours, survey student quality, etc.
The district education sector regularly conducts quality surveys for 5th and 9th graders in the subjects: math, Vietnamese, literature, English, as a basis for developing solutions to improve the quality of education and the quality of the entrance exam to grade 10 high school. The rate of 9th graders entering grade 10 public high schools is 85.34%. The average scores of the subjects are: math 7.16; literature 6.94; English: 5.58.
Notably, Dan Phuong maintains the city's leading position in national standard schools with a rate of 98.2%, of which 71% meet national standards at level 2. At the end of the 2023-2024 school year, the district's education and training sector was assessed by the Department of Education and Training as having 11/13 excellent criteria and 2/13 good criteria.
“In the 2024-2025 school year, the education sector of Dan Phuong district will continue to review the planning of the school and classroom network; advise on investment in new construction, renovation, and repair of school facilities, and investment in equipment in a synchronous and modern direction. At the same time, continue to synchronously implement solutions to improve the quality of child care and education, the quality of comprehensive education for students, and the quality of high school entrance exams” – Ms. Bui Thi Thu Hang said.
Speaking at the conference, Chairman of Dan Phuong District People's Committee Nguyen Van Duc acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the district's education and training sector in the 2023-2024 school year. In particular, the quality of education has changed, especially the quality of admission to grade 10 high school has been improved. The work of building schools that meet national standards has achieved high results.
In the 2024-2025 school year, the Ministry of Education and Training has identified the theme “Discipline, responsibility, continuous innovation, improving the quality of education”. Therefore, the education sector of Dan Phuong needs to affirm and raise it to a new level of comprehensive approach when the district becomes a district.
Regarding the tasks in the coming time, Chairman of Dan Phuong District People's Committee Nguyen Van Duc requested the district's Department of Education and Training to focus on strengthening political and ideological training, continuing to build and improve the quality of teachers and managers to meet the requirements of educational innovation.
At the same time, focus on solutions to improve the quality of care and nurturing, the quality of comprehensive education, key education, the quality of teaching foreign languages, information technology, and focus on moral education and lifestyle for students based on the cultural foundation and beauty of Hanoi people.
Along with that, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of State management in the field of education, promote learning and talent promotion activities; coordinate well the three educational environments: family - school - society.
"I propose that Party committees and authorities at all levels pay more attention to education so that the education sector can increasingly develop and integrate, meeting the criteria to become a district of the capital Hanoi," Mr. Nguyen Van Duc emphasized.
