Dam Vinh Hung and Thuy Tien submit documents proving damages in Nguyen Phuong Hang case

According to the latest indictment of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy on the case of Nguyen Phuong Hang (52 years old, General Director of Dai Nam Joint Stock Company) and 4 accomplices for the crime of Abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State, the rights and legitimate interests of organizations and individuals - singer Thuy Tien and her husband Dam Vinh Hung provided documents to prove the damage.

In addition, Nguyen Thi My Oanh (singer Vy Oanh) confirmed that she has not yet specifically counted the material damage and will provide documents proving the damage before March 25, 2023, but has not yet done so.

Ms. Dang Thi Han Ni requested compensation for damages according to the provisions of the law, but confirmed that she could not provide documents to prove mental damage to request compensation, only providing a prescription with a diagnosis of anxiety disorder and sleep disorder.

According to the investigation conclusion of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department, singer Thuy Tien and her husband Le Cong Vinh requested Nguyen Phuong Hang and her accomplices to compensate for material losses of 30.4 billion VND; and compensation for mental losses due to insulting statements against the couple of 14.9 billion VND.

Singer Dam Vinh Hung demanded that the defendant Hang and her accomplices publicly apologize and compensate him for material damages of 43 billion VND because her statements offended him.

Singer Vy Oanh has not requested material compensation but requested Nguyen Phuong Hang and her accomplices to apologize for their offensive statements.

Ms. Dang Thi Han Ni requested Ms. Hang and her accomplices to compensate for damages according to the provisions of law.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, Ms. Le Thi Giau and Ms. Truong Thi Viet Ha did not request material compensation but asked Ms. Hang and her accomplices to apologize for the article insulting these people.

Ms. Dinh Thi Lan has no claim for compensation.

As scheduled, on September 21, Ho Chi Minh City People's Court will open a trial for defendant Nguyen Phuong Hang and four accomplices.

According to the case file, from around March 2021, through social media accounts, Nguyen Phuong Hang organized many livestreams to directly speak about private secrets and content that affected the reputation and honor of 10 individuals, including: Vo Nguyen Hoai Linh (artist Hoai Linh), Nguyen Thi My Oanh (singer Vy Oanh), Ms. Dang Thi Han Ni (journalist, law master Han Ni), Mr. Huynh Minh Hung (singer Dam Vinh Hung), Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Tien (singer Thuy Tien) and her husband Le Cong Vinh, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien (Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper), Ms. Dinh Thi Lan, Ms. Le Thi Giau, Ms. Truong Viet Ha.

During the investigation, Nguyen Phuong Hang admitted to making offensive statements to the above individuals.

For individuals using YouTube channels to share information related to Nguyen Phuong Hang for the purpose of "getting likes" and increasing income, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department and related functional units are verifying and clarifying for handling.

Although the three defendants Nguyen Thi Mai Nhi, Le Thi Thu Ha, and Huynh Cong Tan had no conflicts with the above individuals, because they were employees and received salaries from Nguyen Phuong Hang, they continuously and actively assisted defendant Hang.

Ho Chi Minh City police determined that the three suspects Nhi, Ha, and Tan performed the tasks of posting on social network Facebook about the title, time, and link to the YouTube and TikTok channels that would broadcast the livestream; printing the content that defendant Nguyen Phuong Hang would speak about and giving it to defendant Nguyen Phuong Hang before the livestream sessions; preparing and using electronic devices and equipment to serve the livestream and broadcast the livestream on defendant Nguyen Phuong Hang's social network accounts.

These three defendants also participated in hosting livestreams, announcing the number of viewers, reading comments on live streams...

Regarding the defendant Dang Anh Quan, the authorities determined that this person directly participated in many livestreams with Nguyen Phuong Hang. During these livestreams, Dang Anh Quan spoke, commented, and interacted with Nguyen Phuong Hang about content that seriously offended the honor, reputation, and dignity of many individuals.
