Ensuring the 6th Cham Cultural Festival takes place meaningfully and professionally

Reporting on the preparation for the organization of the 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ninh Thuan province Nguyen Van Hoa said: Realizing that organizing the Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival is an important task of the province, at the same time this is also an opportunity for Ninh Thuan to promote the Cham ethnic cultural heritage, the land, people of the province, tourism potential, so that Ninh Thuan becomes an attractive destination for domestic and international tourists, on the basis of Plan No. 2576/KH-BVHTTDL of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Provincial People's Committee has directed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to advise on a draft plan to coordinate the organization of the 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival in Ninh Thuan in 2024.

Up to now, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has coordinated with the Department of Ethnic Culture (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) to develop the content of the Regulations on mass cultural and artistic activities within the framework of the 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival in Ninh Thuan province, 2024; Coordinated with People's Artist Minh Thong to develop the script for the opening ceremony of the Festival. Designed the stage art layout for the opening ceremony of the Festival; Arranged space for display and exhibition booths within the framework of the Festival; Compiled the list, reviewed and issued the Decision to establish the Festival Organizing Committee and subcommittees serving the Festival...

Also according to Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, in the coming time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ninh Thuan and other departments, branches and localities in the province will coordinate with functional units of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to prepare conditions to organize the activities of the Festival.

In particular, implementing procedures for selecting consulting units, organizing events to implement the script, content of the opening and closing programs of the Festival; installing stages, arranging spaces, installing booths to organize activities. Reviewing cultural and sports contents to select athletes, Cham ethnic artisans to practice sports and arts, and establishing a delegation to participate in activities according to plan.

In addition, prepare venues and gymnasiums to organize sports competitions as planned (6 events: tug of war, stick pushing, men's mini football; men's volleyball; women's water team; men's and women's cross-country). Prepare to organize a tourism seminar with the theme "Promoting the value of Cham cultural heritage in tourism development". Implement visual propaganda work on the 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival in Ninh Thuan province in 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa also proposed: The opening program of the Festival includes the announcement of the Prime Minister's Decision on recognizing two Cham cultural artifacts in Ninh Thuan as National Treasures, including Phuoc Thien Stele and the statue of King Po Klong Garai.

At the meeting, delegates gave their opinions on the plan and preparations for the Festival. Accordingly, delegates affirmed that the activities within the framework of the Festival must clearly demonstrate the cultural identity of the Cham people; be popular, rich in form, creative, diverse, and unique in content.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy highly appreciated the focused and drastic implementation of Ninh Thuan province and related units in preparing for the organization of the 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival.

Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy emphasized: The 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival is organized to contribute to honoring and introducing the traditional cultural values ​​of the Cham people to domestic and international friends. Strengthening the promotion of the image of a Vietnam rich in cultural identity, with unity and harmony among ethnic groups, demonstrating the attention of the Party and State to the work of preserving and promoting the cultural values ​​of the Cham people in the process of innovation, integration and development. At the same time, raising awareness and sense of responsibility in building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development.

Thereby, the Deputy Minister requested that Ninh Thuan province and related units coordinate to continue to demonstrate the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, proactively coordinate smoothly in organizing the Festival, complete tasks on schedule; ensure quality. The programs participating in the Festival must be carefully prepared, well-rehearsed, have typical, appropriate content and high artistry; deeply depict and praise the historical and cultural traditions of the Cham ethnic group in the cause of building and defending the country, as well as the spirit of solidarity of the Cham people; promote the role of cultural subjects, promote traditional cultural values ​​associated with the progressive factors of the times. At the same time, the series of activities must have practical significance in orienting the work of preserving Cham ethnic culture associated with tourism development.

The 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival in Ninh Thuan province, 2024 is expected to be held from September 27-29, 2024, in Phan Rang - Thap Cham city, Ninh Thuan province with the participation of provinces and cities: Ninh Thuan, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Binh Thuan, An Giang, Tay Ninh, Quang Nam, Da Nang city...
