These days, accommodation units in Dien Bien Phu City are actively preparing the best conditions to meet the needs of tourists. Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do said that the province has identified the organization of Dien Bien National Tourism Year 2024 in conjunction with the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024) as a particularly important event. This is an opportunity to widely promote to domestic and international tourists the land and people of Dien Bien, the province's typical tourism products to attract tourists to the locality. "Currently, all preparations have been completed, ready to welcome tourists to Dien Bien to experience the scenic spots, experience the cultural beauty of 19 ethnic groups as well as visit and learn about the historical relics of the Dien Bien Phu battlefield 70 years ago," Mr. Do informed. According to the provincial leader, there are currently more than 130 restaurants in the area welcoming and serving guests with over 6,700 tables; 19 tourist attractions and entertainment venues capable of serving over 80,000 visitors at the same time. Regarding accommodation facilities, the whole province has 205 establishments with nearly 2,800 rooms, about 5,100 beds, of which, Dien Bien Phu City and its vicinity have 121 establishments. To serve a large number of tourists coming to Dien Bien on this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that Dien Bien is promoting and mobilizing households in Dien Bien Phu City and Dien Bien District to be ready to support accommodation for tourists during the peak period of activities and events from the beginning of March to the end of May this year. The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is also actively urging and guiding tourism businesses in the area to have plans to upgrade and renovate facilities, replace and repair equipment to ensure the best service conditions for tourists, and at the same time, publicly post service prices to prevent price increases. |

Production and service units must strengthen food hygiene and safety, not use food and additives of unclear origin according to regulations of the Ministry of Health; organize environmental sanitation, equipment at tourism service businesses, cultural tourism villages to ensure green, clean and beautiful. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province must strengthen inspection and examination before, during and after the festival, promptly prevent and strictly handle violations, especially acts of taking advantage of relics and festivals for profit, inciting violence, illegally circulating and trading cultural products and other violations of the law. Ms. Nguyen Minh Hien, Manager of Long Giang Hotel (Dien Bien Phu City) said: "My hotel currently has a scale of 40 rooms, serving a maximum of about 120 guests. Since the end of 2023, we have prepared polite and airy accommodation for visitors during the festival season, focusing on upgrading equipment, utensils and keeping rooms clean; enhancing the safety of visitors' personal property... From the beginning of March to mid-May 2024, 100% of the hotel's rooms were fully booked. The hotel has strictly complied with the price list during the festival days, and when the visiting groups are charity groups or veterans, the hotel has a separate policy such as supporting room rates and taxi fares of Long Giang taxi". In community tourism villages and cultural villages, activities to prepare for welcoming guests are also actively carried out. Pung Tom village, Thanh Minh commune, Dien Bien Phu city has nearly 10 households registered to provide homestay services on this occasion. |

In order to ensure human resources to welcome visitors at the relic sites, from March 1 to May 10 and especially during the two peak periods of the opening of the Hoa Ban Festival - Dien Bien National Tourism Year 2024 and the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the Relic Management Board, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province coordinated with relevant units to select 30 qualified students to participate in explaining to serve visitors at the relic sites: Hill A1, De Castries Tunnel, Hill D1 (Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument), Hill F and the Martyrs' Temple at Dien Bien Phu battlefield. It is known that since the beginning of the year, the number of tourists to Dien Bien has reached 230,000, of which international visitors reached nearly 2,000, with total revenue from tourism activities reaching 400 billion VND.| Dien Bien National Tourism Year 2024 will be organized with 169 activities and events, of which Dien Bien province will host 28 activities and events; 13 activities and events will be carried out by agencies under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and 128 activities and events will be organized by 33 provinces and cities nationwide. |
