Previously, on October 3, at the kindergarten class of Hoa Huong Duong Kindergarten, Thien An Ward, Buon Ho Town, the homeroom teacher discovered a child with blisters on his face and hands. On October 5 and 6, four more children appeared in this class with symptoms of blisters on their face and hands. The teacher suspected that the children had chickenpox, so she contacted their families and sent them home for isolation and treatment. As a result, all the children were diagnosed with chickenpox.

Currently, Hoa Huong Duong Kindergarten has five classes with 114 students, the remaining classes of the school have not recorded similar cases.

Immediately after recording the outbreak, Buon Ho Town Medical Center quickly coordinated with the ward health station and Hoa Huong Duong Kindergarten to disinfect all classrooms and the school grounds with 0.5% Cloramin B solution. At the same time, they advised and guided on measures to prevent and control chickenpox at schools , clean the school grounds and classrooms. They required the school to improve personal hygiene for children, clean walls and floors, soak learning tools and toys with 0.5% Cloramin B solution.

Cases of chickenpox need to stay home from school for seven to 10 days from the time the disease is detected to avoid spreading to those around them; regularly wear masks, limit contact and gathering in crowds. Students limit going back and forth between classes, can temporarily stop boarding and eating at school to minimize the spread to classes that have not had cases.

Regularly wash hands with soap, use separate household items, clean nose and throat daily with saline solution; clean house, school and household items with regular antiseptic solution and vaccinate children from 12 months old against chickenpox.

The leaders of Buon Ho Town Medical Center assessed that the chickenpox epidemic is still complicated because students study at boarding schools and sleep at school. In addition, the large number of students, their active age, and their frequent contact with each other can cause the epidemic to spread and spread to the community. Therefore, Buon Ho Town Medical Center is actively implementing disease prevention and control measures as well as promoting propaganda to local people. At the same time, the school is requested to closely monitor new cases of the disease. In the next five to seven days, if the number of cases increases by three to five cases per class and 2/3 of the total classes in the school have students infected with the disease, the entire school will be allowed to take a leave of absence from school for seven to 10 days to isolate and clean up the room to prevent the disease.
