General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, offered incense to commemorate heroic martyrs at the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield Martyrs' Temple.

At the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield Martyrs' Temple and A1 Martyrs' Cemetery, General Phan Van Giang and the delegates respectfully offered incense, expressed their gratitude, and paid tribute to General Vo Nguyen Giap, officers and soldiers, youth volunteers, frontline laborers; the army and people who fought bravely and sacrificed to create the Dien Bien Phu Victory. Before the heroic martyrs, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and officers and soldiers of the entire army vow to unite as one, be absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the People; promote the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" and the glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, join hands and resolve to build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and gradually modern army to excellently fulfill all tasks assigned by the Party, the State and the People; firmly protect the independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Fatherland; and build an increasingly powerful and prosperous country.

Next, General Phan Van Giang attended and performed the ceremony of installing a street sign named after Hero Ta Quoc Luat in Dien Bien Phu city. Ta Quoc Luat street, close to the De Castries Bunker relic, is a major road that has just been upgraded by Dien Bien province with a length of 1.11km, a road cross-section of 13.5m, starting from the Muong Thanh bridge intersection, ending at the intersection to Thanh Hung commune (Dien Bien district).

Also this afternoon, Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang visited and encouraged officers and soldiers of the parade and marching forces at Regiment 82, Division 355, Military Region 2. General Phan Van Giang acknowledged and praised the spirit of the forces who have made efforts to overcome difficulties in weather and facilities, striving to complete the assigned tasks. At the same time, the Minister of National Defense hoped that the units and each officer and soldier would continue to strive, uphold the spirit of responsibility, solidarity, and the highest determination to excellently complete the tasks at the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.
