Hanoi National University aims to become an advanced university in Asia, ranked in the world's top 200 by 2045.
The above goal was stated by Professor Le Quan, Director of Hanoi National University, at the ceremony to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Government's issuance of the decree on this university on the morning of December 10.
According to Mr. Quan, the school has established its position and always maintained its position in the top 1,000 universities in the world on prestigious rankings. In 2022, Hanoi National University was the first university in Vietnam to win the QS Quality Improvement Award with 6 fields in the top 350-600 in the world.
This year, the school is ranked in the 401-600 group in the world according to the criteria of the university rankings on sustainable development (THE Impact Rankings), in which the Education Quality index is ranked 70th in the world, 5th in Southeast Asia and number 1 in Vietnam.
In the coming time, Hanoi National University will focus on attracting talents and improving training quality because this is the core value and operating principle of the school. In particular, basic sciences, training experts, scientists, and university lecturers are the fundamental tasks. Hanoi National University also promotes training in technology, innovation, and art; applied and practical training; focusing on training according to international standards.
Previously, the 8th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee issued Resolution No. 45 on building and promoting the role of intellectuals to meet the requirements of rapid and sustainable national development in the new period. The Resolution sets out the task of focusing on building breakthrough mechanisms and policies and investing resources to develop advanced higher education institutions, in which Hanoi National University is ranked in the top 500 universities in the world by 2030.

In addition to aiming to be in the world's top 200, Hanoi National University aims to build a university urban area in Hoa Lac that is smart, modern, sustainable and on par with the region.
The goal is to have 25,000 students studying in this urban area by 2025, aiming for a scale of 100,000 people with 80,000 students, and becoming an innovation center associated with businesses by 2030.
"Hanoi National University is determined to become the core center of Hoa Lac city, part of the capital Hanoi," Mr. Quan shared. Students will be trained comprehensively - good at expertise, have the ability to integrate, understand culture, national traditions and especially improve physical strength and fitness.

Hanoi National University currently has 37 units, including 9 member universities, 2 schools and 2 affiliated faculties, 6 research institutes and training and scientific research centers, service units and knowledge transfer units. Currently, the university implements 190 undergraduate training programs, nearly 200 master's programs and nearly 120 doctoral programs.
The current training scale is 71,000 students, of which about 55,000 are full-time university students, 10,000 are high school students, the rest are graduate students, researchers and international students. Since 1993, about 280,000 people have graduated from the member schools of this university.
In his congratulatory letter, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong expressed his belief that Hanoi National University will achieve the goal of entering the top 500 universities in the world by 2030 as set out in Resolution 45.
"I hope that the teachers and students of Hanoi National University will promote their intelligence, enthusiasm, passion and creativity to successfully achieve the above-mentioned goals," the General Secretary wrote.
Mr. Do Van Chien, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, suggested that Hanoi National University devote its efforts to researching and submitting to the Government for consideration and approval of solutions on mechanisms and resources to promote all potentials, focusing on building a university urban area in Hoa Lac, building Hanoi National University to become famous in the region and internationally.
