At the question-and-answer session, National Assembly delegate Ha Sy Dong, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, questioned solutions to reduce product costs to improve competitiveness and promote export activities.
According to delegates, one of the solutions to reduce product costs to improve competitiveness and promote export activities is to use clean energy, which is considered an input factor for producing export goods.
However, for the plan to implement the Power Plan VIII, the Prime Minister has currently approved the Implementation Plan for 46 provinces and cities. At the request of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the remaining 17 provinces and cities have provided information and additional data to the Implementation Plan to the Ministry before April 10, 2024, which is expected to be approved on April 30, 2024, but has not yet been approved. The delegate asked the Minister to let him know when the remaining 17 provinces and cities will have their implementation plans approved to have a basis for implementing the projects?
Regarding the transitional renewable energy projects, regarding the mechanism, policies and electricity generation price framework, delegate Ha Sy Dong said that currently, investors of wind and solar power projects have been paid by electricity buyers with 50% of the ceiling price of the temporary price framework (according to Decision No. 21/QD-BCT dated January 7, 2023 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade). The delegate questioned the minister on how to resolve the issue of reasonable electricity generation prices, abolish the temporary price and pay the remaining 50%. At the same time, the delegate also asked the minister to provide solutions to remove procedural obstacles to facilitate investors in implementing projects and promoting investment efficiency.
The issue questioned by National Assembly Delegate Ha Sy Dong will be explained by the Minister of Industry and Trade in the question-and-answer session tomorrow morning, June 5.
