Highlights of Thai Xoe Art Festival in Dien Bien

The program has the participation of 14 delegations from Clubs, Secondary Schools, High Schools, Department of Education and Vocational Colleges in Dien Bien province.

This event is part of a series of activities of the National Tourism Year - Dien Bien and the Ban Flower Festival 2024.

Students of Dien Bien Provincial Pedagogical College brought the performance "Dien Bien welcomes people", attracting a large number of locals and tourists to admire.

Through the Xoe dance, the children want to express the openness, friendliness, solidarity, sincere feelings and hospitality of Dien Bien people to everyone when they set foot in the land of Ban flowers.

In particular, this year's program has a grand Xoe performance with the theme "Dien Bien - Xoe Flower Rendezvous", with the participation of more than 2,000 actors, giving the audience deep impressions of the Thai Xoe art of Dien Bien.

According to the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province, the organization of the Thai Xoe Art Festival contributes to raising awareness, arousing pride, and encouraging the younger generation to pay more attention to heritage.

Thereby, it aims to honor, preserve and promote cultural values, raise awareness and take practical actions to protect the vitality of intangible cultural heritages in the community.

Thai Xoe is a unique folk performing art form of the Thai ethnic group in the Northwest region in general and Dien Bien province in particular.

This is a type of dance with movements symbolizing human activities, formed in rituals, culture, life and community activities.

With undeniable spiritual values ​​over time, the art of Thai Xoe is still being maintained and developed, not only in the Thai ethnic community but also has a strong vitality and spread to many other ethnic groups in provinces and cities across the country.

The art of Xoe Thai dance of Vietnam has been recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Therefore, Dien Bien province has been spreading the Thai Xoe art in the community, attracting a large number of students and clubs in the area to participate.

Through the Festival, we aim to honor, preserve and promote the cultural values ​​and unique beauty of national costumes, and promote the heritages that have been recorded and recognized...

Previously, on the evening of March 16, at 7/5 Square (Dien Bien Phu City), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Dien Bien province to organize the opening ceremony of the National Tourism Year - Dien Bien and the Ban Flower Festival 2024.

Within the framework of the Ban Flower Festival from March 16-18, there will be many rich and unique activities such as: the UVA Legend live show; highland cultural space; sports activities; display and introduction of OCOP products, typical agricultural products, traditional craft village products; National scientific conference "Dien Bien promotes potential and advantages to develop sustainable tourism"; photo contest Sparkling Ban flower land.
