The program promotes e-commerce applications to encourage digital economic transformation in traditional markets in districts and wards of Da Nang city.
On the afternoon of December 20, in Da Nang City, the People's Committee of Lien Chieu District coordinated with the Central Highlands E-commerce Association (VECOM) to organize a launching ceremony for the e-commerce promotion program at traditional markets in Lien Chieu District. The program was attended by district leaders, representatives of coordinating units and representatives of accompanying units along with more than 100 small traders and production establishments in the area.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of Lien Chieu District People's Committee, Mr. Tran Cong Nguyen said that Lien Chieu District currently has 10 traditional markets, 1 type I market is Hoa Khanh market, 2 type II markets are Hoa My market and Nam O market and 6 type III markets managed by wards. With the emergence of e-commerce activities, the change in consumer habits has posed great challenges to the existence of traditional markets, creating fierce competition and facing many difficulties. "From the successful reality of many traditional market models across the country, it shows that traditional markets can completely adapt and transform the sales method combining direct and online, livestream, thereby promoting the great advantages of the market such as the cultural identity of the people, available goods ", said Vice Chairman of Lien Chieu District People's Committee Tran Cong Nguyen.

According to Mr. Tran Cong Nguyen, there will be many difficulties in adapting to new business methods and new ways of doing things. However, if there is no change and integration, it will certainly be eliminated. The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Lien Chieu District suggested that all levels and sectors of the district need to coordinate closely to create the most favorable conditions for traders in traditional markets to apply e-commerce in business. In particular, traders need to seize opportunities, overcome difficulties to work together to build increasingly modern and civilized traditional markets.

Within the framework of the program, there was also a training course to improve knowledge about e-commerce by experts from the coordinating unit Tiktokshop to inform about activities to promote the implementation of e-commerce applications, digital transformation in sales business, support traders in traditional markets to update knowledge, skills to adapt and apply e-commerce solutions, and create a pilot model to replicate in traditional markets in the district.
In addition, there are also live sales activities to help retailers better understand this new way of doing business.
