The program aims to create a ripple effect, stimulate domestic consumption and shopping needs in the last months of 2023, promote the introduction of solutions for e-commerce development, information technology and digital transformation applications.
In particular, through the market, Da Nang hopes to popularize cashless payment methods combined with promoting OCOP products, typical of the city to people and tourists; strengthen promotion and widely inform about the Vietnam Online Shopping Day program - Online Friday organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The fair has more than 50 booths of nearly 60 enterprises producing OCOP products, typical rural industries, and specialty products from Da Nang, Quang Nam, Dong Nai, Kon Tum, Dak Nong, Binh Dinh, Hue, Lam Dong, Tra Vinh....
The event also had the participation of e-commerce solution units in Da Nang and Hanoi to display, introduce, and experience trial products, services and solutions on e-commerce, digital transformation in life and promotional activities (QR code vouchers, online promotions...).
Attending and speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Lai Viet Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, Ministry of Industry and Trade said that in recent times, Vietnam's e-commerce has affirmed itself as one of the pioneering fields of the digital economy.
In 2023, the size of Vietnam's retail e-commerce market is estimated to reach 20.5 billion USD, accounting for about 7.8% - 8% of the country's revenue from consumer goods and services. Vietnam is recognized by organizations around the world as having the leading e-commerce growth rate in Southeast Asia.
National E-commerce Week and Vietnam Online Friday online shopping program are one of the annual events within the national e-commerce development program approved by the Prime Minister.
"The program of national e-commerce week and online shopping day Online Friday 2023 has chosen Da Nang city as one of the direct connection points to organize the event, and the city will coordinate to organize a cashless payment market.
The fair aims to communicate and spread to people and businesses the benefits, experiences, and incentives in e-commerce, online shopping, and online payments, while also conveying strong messages to protect consumers in the fight against counterfeit goods, fake goods, and goods that infringe intellectual property rights in the online environment," said Ms. Lai Viet Anh.
