General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's precious book published in 7 foreign languages

The book will contribute to propagating the viewpoints, policies and guidelines of the Vietnamese Party and State on socialism and Vietnam's path to socialism to the world.

On the afternoon of May 19, in Hanoi, the Central Propaganda Department presided over and coordinated with the Central Steering Committee for External Information Work and the National Political Publishing House Truth to organize the announcement and introduction ceremony of the book Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong published in 7 foreign languages.

The ceremony was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Head of the Steering Committee for External Information Work, with the participation of Party Central Committee members, alternate Party Central Committee members, leaders of central departments, ministries, branches and agencies; diplomatic representative agencies of a number of countries, experts, translators and scientists participating in the translation and editing of the book series.

The book Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam (Vietnamese version) was introduced to readers on the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2022), is one of the publications with strong and profound influence by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. To date, the number of copies printed and distributed of this version has reached nearly 30,000.

Speaking at the ceremony, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia affirmed that since its publication, the book by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has received many positive reviews and widespread attention from people both at home and abroad.

The book is a work of high theoretical generalization, a profound practical summary of the Party's own creative developments on the model of Vietnamese socialism, on the basis of applying and creating Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought into revolutionary practice in Vietnam; including the selective inheritance of the quintessence of human culture to build its own identity.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, the General Secretary's scientific, objective explanations and practical evidence on capitalism and socialism, demonstrated by the reality of Vietnam's renovation process, have had a strong persuasive power on public opinion at home and abroad.

This is a valuable document for political and ideological education, raising awareness of cadres, party members and people about socialism and the path to socialism, creating social consensus to arouse and promote the strength of great national unity to successfully achieve the goal: Rich people, strong country, democracy, equality, civilization, so that by the middle of the 21st century, Vietnam will become a developed country, following the socialist orientation as set out in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia highly appreciated the idea of translating and publishing the book in 7 foreign languages of the Truth National Political Publishing House and acknowledged the efforts of the team of prestigious experts and translators from major agencies and ministries; and local experts. Currently, many international friends and foreign publishers have the desire and proposal to translate this book into their native languages. Through that, we can see the interest and admiration of international friends for this precious book.

The Head of the Central Propaganda Department emphasized: "The announcement and introduction of the General Secretary's book in 7 foreign languages today has both political and historical and cultural significance.

I hope that the book in different foreign languages will continue to spread its valuable values, helping international friends understand more deeply about Vietnam's policies and guidelines for innovation and national development, contributing to consolidating and tightening the friendly relations between Vietnam and other countries.

We hope that foreign diplomatic agencies in Vietnam will be the "extended arm" to help the book reach the people and readers of the host country."

At the event, Ms. Pham Thi Thinh - Deputy Director - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House Truth, also said: "As a valuable document, summarizing the theory of the renovation policy, the unique creative developments of the Communist Party of Vietnam on the model of socialism in Vietnam on the basis of creative application of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought, therefore, immediately after its launch to readers, the book received positive reviews and widespread attention from public opinion at home and abroad.

Through Vietnamese embassies and diplomatic missions abroad, the book has attracted deep interest from researchers, scholars and readers of many countries.

This is the basis for the idea of organizing the translation and publication of this book in foreign languages, initially in 7 main foreign languages (English, Chinese, Lao, Russian, French, Spanish and Dutch), with the aim of spreading the political significance and directional values of the book, contributing to the propaganda of the viewpoints, policies and guidelines of the Party and State of Vietnam on socialism and the path to socialism of Vietnam to the world, helping international friends, readers at home and abroad, and overseas Vietnamese to better understand the country, people, culture, innovation and development of Vietnam.

The implementation of the idea of publishing the book in foreign languages has received support, consensus and close cooperation from many central agencies and departments; the participation of a team of experts, translators and prestigious collaborators from the Central Foreign Affairs Committee, the University of Foreign Languages - Hanoi National University, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Academy of Military Science, etc.

In particular, native experts from Laos, China, Canada, Cuba, Russia, etc. who always love and are close to the country and people of Vietnam, understand the language and political characteristics of Vietnam, and have expertise in political science, have been invited to review the translations of the languages.

After nearly a year since the start of the work, the 7-language version of the book Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam has been completed and officially introduced to readers.

In particular, in parallel with publishing more than 11,000 paper copies in 7 languages, providing them to foreign affairs and diplomatic agencies and organizations both at home and abroad, in order to further enhance the effectiveness of communication work, widely spreading the meaning of publishing the book in 7 foreign languages, the Truth National Political Publishing House simultaneously launched an electronic version, serving readers for free on the Publishing House's website: www.stbook.vn.
