At the program "Sharing with teachers" in 2024, Captain Tran Dai Luong (Reformation School No. 2, Department of Police Management of Detention Camps, Compulsory Education Facilities, Reformation Schools, Ministry of Public Security) said that most of the students entering this school were born and raised in families with disabilities, without fathers, without mothers, or both parents were in prison, abandoned when they were very young, and lived a vagrant life.
"Because of the lack of love, education, and discipline from their families since childhood, these children grow up with distorted perceptions, a loose lifestyle, gradually sliding into vices and falling into crime," said Captain Luong.
When entering school, these students cannot immediately adapt to a disciplined life, making it difficult for teachers to teach them. However, with sympathy, Captain Luong and his colleagues always find ways to listen and understand their students, helping them understand their mistakes, feel secure in their self-cultivation and training, and ensure that they complete the prescribed time.
Teacher - Captain Tran Dai Luong was honored at the program "Sharing with teachers".
During his 11 years working at this special school, Captain Luong had countless unforgettable memories. Among them, Hoang Minh Nghia (from Huu Lung, Lang Son) - a student who used to be taciturn and unruly. Thanks to the discipline and encouragement, Nghia gradually changed and improved, finished the vocational course with a certificate of excellence and graduated ahead of schedule.
"After reintegrating into society, through phone calls, I learned that Nghia had gone to work, opened his own mechanical workshop, and made an honest living from the profession he learned in school. Nghia also suggested to me that he wanted to help friends in similar situations to him, so that they could soon stabilize their jobs after graduation," Captain Luong recalled.
Unexpected reunion between teacher Luong and student Hoang Minh Nghia.
After sharing about his special student, Captain Luong unexpectedly met his old student again right at the program. The captain could not hold back his tears and hugged Nghia in boundless emotion.
Giving a bouquet of fresh flowers to his special teacher, Hoang Minh Nghia considered himself a lucky person. The greatest luck was meeting a kind teacher in a reform school. "If it weren't for him, I don't know how far my life would have drifted and become worse," the young man was moved.
During the period 2016-2018, Nghia went to the reform school (2016-2018), teacher Luong always cared for him and created conditions for him to study, practice and cultivate.
"I got to meet him again after 7 years of graduation. I dare not promise anything, I only know to try and strive every day to become a useful person for society, not to disappoint the expectations of Mr. Luong as well as the staff at Reformatory School No. 2," Nghia said.
In response, Captain Luong thanked Nghia for his maturity and always remembered the contributions of those who had guided him. At the same time, he expressed his hope that generations of students from the reformatory school after graduating would have a stable, happy life, become good citizens, and be useful to society.
