The provincial Border Guard Force has done a good job of mobilizing the masses, harnessing the combined strength of the entire political system, all levels and sectors, and the whole population to participate in protecting territorial sovereignty and maintaining political security and social order in border areas. This has contributed to building and consolidating a strong all-people border defense posture.

The Pò Hèn Border Guard Post, located in Hải Sơn commune (Móng Cái city), manages and protects over 12km of land border with China. Following the motto "Listen to the people, explain so the people understand, and earn their trust," and "Eat together, live together, work together, and speak the local language," the unit's officers and soldiers regularly visit border villages and hamlets to assist the people in production and economic development; they also conduct propaganda and mobilization efforts to raise awareness among the people, encouraging them to be vigilant against those who might try to lure them into illegal activities, and to actively protect the border and boundary markers.
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Dai Duong, Political Officer of Po Hen Border Guard Station, said: "The unit's officers and soldiers always prioritize the people, considering each citizen as a living landmark on the border. The people play a particularly important role in building a national defense posture based on the people's support in ethnic minority areas, mountainous regions, and border and island areas. The unit proactively implements measures to manage and maintain security and order in its assigned area, actively assisting the people in developing production and building new rural areas... From the beginning of 2024 to the present, the unit has organized 50 teams with nearly 200 officers and soldiers to go to the area to assess the local situation; coordinated the distribution of 350 leaflets, provided propaganda and legal assistance on legal documents concerning borders and immigration; and helped people maintain the effectiveness of 5 'model gardens' for growing oranges, jackfruit, and golden flower tea trees..."
With the motto "The outpost is our home, the border is our homeland, and the people of all ethnic groups are our brothers and sisters," over the past five years, the Border Guard Force of the province has proactively coordinated with local Party committees, authorities, departments, organizations, and armed forces to conduct over 3,600 propaganda sessions for more than 110,000 people in border areas. This has fostered national pride and self-respect, and a sense of responsibility among officials and the people regarding the task of protecting national sovereignty and border security. To date, border localities in the province have established 497 teams with 5,599 members participating in the management and protection of 112 border markers, hundreds of kilometers of border lines, and ports and wharves. From this, the people have provided the Border Guard Force with thousands of valuable pieces of information serving border management and protection, combating crime, and preventing illegal immigration and emigration.

Colonel Vu Van Hung, Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard Command, said: To build and promote the people's defense posture in conjunction with the people's support, the officers and soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard Command always uphold a high sense of responsibility, maintain close ties with the people, proactively coordinate to help the people develop socio-economic conditions, achieve sustainable poverty reduction, build effective economic models, and transfer them to the people for management and development. Over the past five years, the entire force has contributed over 5,000 man-days to help border villages build nearly 53km of rural roads, repair over 16km of irrigation canals, and assist the people in production and harvesting; coordinated and directly supported the construction of 92 houses under the programs "Building houses for poor households in border areas," "Borderland shelters," and "Giving houses of compassion" with a total value of over 5 billion VND; and donated over 35,000 national flags and 32,000 portraits of President Ho Chi Minh to the people in border and island areas.
Implementing the program "Helping Children Go to School - Children Adopted by Border Guard Posts" and the project "Army Officers and Soldiers Helping Children Go to School," the provincial border guard force has donated over 3 billion VND to 111 students with particularly difficult circumstances; and helped people build 30,000 m². The model garden, planted with over 2,000 fruit trees of various kinds… This contributes to the effective implementation of national target programs for building new rural areas and civilized urban areas, and improving people's lives.
The practical activities of the provincial Border Guard have contributed to strengthening the solidarity and close relationship between the military and the people in border and island areas, creating a combined strength of the people to successfully carry out the task of managing and firmly protecting national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and border security in the new situation.
