Strengthening and enhancing the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation

On behalf of the Vietnamese National Assembly, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue warmly welcomed Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Vichtorovich Volodin and senior members of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on an official visit to Vietnam. The National Assembly Chairman stated that the Vietnamese side looks forward to and highly appreciates the significance of the visit by the Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the delegation; emphasizing that this is an important event, contributing to consolidating and enhancing the friendly and cooperative relations between the two National Assemblies in particular and between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in general.

The National Assembly Chairman said that the Party and State leaders attach great importance to the visit of the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. During the visit, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will all meet with the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

At the meeting, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Vichtorovich Volodin thanked the National Assembly Chairman for his invitation and expressed his joy and honor to visit Vietnam and receive a warm, friendly and thoughtful welcome.

Regretfully, the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted exchanges, delegations and direct contacts between leaders of the two sides. Now that the pandemic is under control, the two sides have resumed exchanges and direct contacts at all levels. The Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation hopes that these activities will continue to be maintained and developed systematically.

Stating that the Russia-Vietnam relationship is a traditional, friendly, strategic friendship that is developing very well, the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation said that this is thanks to the foundation built and constantly nurtured by generations of leaders of the two countries. The Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation said that with the role of the legislative bodies of the two countries, the two sides need to continue promoting the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries in general for the development of the two countries and for the people of the two countries.

At the talks, the two sides discussed the situation in each country, political, diplomatic, economic-trade and investment cooperation, oil and gas, energy, education-training, science-technology cooperation; organization and operation of the National Assembly, Parliament, inter-parliamentary cooperation and discussed issues of common concern.
