The Red Cross emulation cluster of the Northern Midlands and Mountains provinces summarizes work in 2024

On November 29, in Tuyen Quang city, Emulation Cluster No. 4 of the Red Cross Association (RC) of the Northern Midlands and Mountains provinces including Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Hoa Binh, Yen Bai, Bac Kan held a conference to review the work of the Association and the Red Cross movement in 2024; deploy directions and tasks for 2025.

With the goal of "The whole country joins hands for the poor, leaving no one behind", in 2024, the Red Cross Associations of the provinces in the Emulation Cluster organized relief activities, gave gifts, and assisted 195,183 people; the whole cluster gave away 164,718 gifts; received relief for people affected by storm No. 3 in the province.

In 2024, the provinces in Emulation Cluster No. 4 will proactively develop plans, launch, assign targets and sign emulation agreements, focusing on comprehensive implementation in all areas. High-value activities include the "Humanitarian Tet" Movement; campaign to build humanitarian houses; nutrition programs for poor and disabled children; propaganda work to mobilize blood donation and honor voluntary blood donors, communication work...

At the conference, delegates from the provinces discussed and analyzed the results achieved, pointed out the remaining shortcomings and limitations in the work of the association and the Red Cross movement in 2024; and at the same time, highly agreed with the 8 directions and tasks of work in 2025. In addition, the Cluster made recommendations and proposals such as: The Central Association should pay attention to supporting programs and projects to support livelihoods and prevent natural disasters so that the Red Cross Societies of the provinces can better perform their role in supporting the poor in economic development, sustainable poverty reduction, and disaster prevention; requesting the Central Association to propose to competent authorities to allow Red Cross officials to enjoy the same benefits as civil servants to ensure their rights and so that the association officials can work with peace of mind.
