This year's Rap Viet has 3 female contestants entering the finals. This is also the first time that 2 rappers have withdrawn from the show right before the most important competition night.
Four seasons of Rap Viet have passed, but the finale of the show has never been as unstable as this year's. Just before the finale aired, two contestants announced their withdrawal from the show. The departure of Queen B and Dangrangto made the Rap Viet finale less exciting and dramatic.
The battle was already tilted towards Team BRay, but now the balance is even more tilted towards this coach. The outcome of the Rap Viet battle is no longer too difficult to predict. GILL and Robber, 2 contestants of Team BRay, are almost certain to win, if there are no "variables" that occur.
The outcome of the match is becoming more and more predictable.
This year is the first time Rap Viet has had 3 female rappers entering the finals. The audience witnessed the rise of female rappers, who are considered "weak" and have little voice in the underground world. The winning rate of Queen B, Saabirose and Danmy in the direct confrontation with GILL, Robber, Manbo... is almost impossible, but their appearance at least contributes to a colorful final. Of the 3 names mentioned above, the audience bet the most on Queen B, a "fighting" representative, the most standard old school hip hop color among female rappers. Unfortunately, Queen B left, leaving Danmy and Saabirose to face off in an unequal battle.
Danmy and Saabirose improved in every aspect in the final round that aired on the evening of December 7, but the entertaining and strong performance of both of them still made it difficult to reverse the situation, to create a surprising ending for the audience watching Rap Viet this year.
Dangrangto's absence is even more regrettable. Along with Manbo, Dangrangto (also known as Tran La Luot) is the media "card" of this year's program. He has a large fan base and frequently appears on the trending top in high positions. This rapper has a "weird" and unique flow and way of handling rap songs. His rap skills may not be as strong as GILL, Robber, but his creativity and unpredictability make Dangrangto a mysterious factor, expected to be able to turn the tide of Rap Viet.
Predicting the final results of Rap Viet, most of the comments predicted GILL and Robber, and some of the audience called out Dangrangto or Manbo, 7dnight. But now, Dangrangto has left. This decision does not completely change the situation of Rap Viet when GILL and Robber are still the championship candidates, but it makes the results more predictable. With 2 "trump cards" in hand, BRay is almost certain to win.
With 7dight, Manbo, Danmy, BigDaddy and Karik, it is difficult for them to once again reach the Rap Viet trophy with their students. Suboi with the only representative Saabirose has even less chance of winning.
The civil war for the "throne" of team BRay
In the first final episode, BRay declared that this year he would win both the championship and runner-up of Rap Viet. Robber boldly declared: "Win this match", "UnderDogs and the remaining teams seem to be overwhelming". Robber has the basis to make such confident statements, even though it is still nearly a week until the Rap Viet champion is revealed. BRay is holding the two strongest contestants of this year's competition.
In terms of basic rap skills such as flow, delivery, lyrics, punchline, GILL and Robber are almost on a different level compared to the other finalists. Robber and GILL represent the two most basic and common schools of rap. Robber is a typical rapper of old school hip hop with unpredictable changes in flow, style, and attractive voice, while GILL stands out more in his ability to grasp the trend of young audiences and catchy melodies. GILL's flow, lyrics, and punchline are also good, making him a well-rounded factor.
GILL's latest performance was structurally sound but emotionally relatable. It may have been a bit weak for the nature and scale of the finale, but overall, he was still a strong contender for the title. As for Robber, he maintained his form in the finale.
On a beat with distinct color changes and complex structures, Robber shows that no genre is too difficult for him. Robber's flow and delivery constantly change, taking the audience through many different emotions in the same song.
Under episode 14, a comment from Manbo, Karik's team emerged with great interaction. Specifically, the rapper and his team HIEUTHUHAI wrote: "We are both contestants, but the true champions in my heart are GILL and Robber". When Queen B withdrew from the game, Danmy had a hard time winning, Manbo became the only hope for Karik's team. However, if Manbo wins, it is predicted that Rap Viet will have the most controversial ending since season 1. Not to mention skills, Manbo has the most discussion this season.
But similar to RHYDER last year, the discussion around Manbo is always multi-dimensional, with both defense and controversy. Many comments about this rapper discuss whether he can overcome the huge shadow of his teammates GERDNANG, especially HIEUTHUHAI. Is it possible that Manbo made it to the finals thanks to the reputation of his teammates?
In terms of skills, Manbo is not inferior to his teammates, even better in flow, voice, and lyrics. However, when placed in a match with many strong opponents such as GILL and Robber, Manbo showed signs of weakness.
Both Manbo and 7dnight (contestants from BigDaddy's team) performed well and were attractive in the final night. However, in the comments section of episode 14, most of the audience praised and predicted that GILL and Robber would win. Whether or not the audience's predictions can come true, the answer will be revealed in the final night taking place on the evening of December 14.
