Traffic Police Department caught illegal sand dredging ship on Red River, collected more than 100 m3 of sand
At the time of arrest, there were 3 people on board, and the ship had dredged more than 100 cubic meters of sand . The task force made a record of the incident and seized all the sand for handling according to regulations.
C08 representative said that currently on the Red River, there is still a situation of illegal sand and gravel mining that is organized, operating closely and on a small scale at night in areas far from residential areas bordering the provinces of Hung Yen, Vinh Phuc, and Phu Tho.
To avoid the control of authorities, the subjects often dredge sand from about 6 p.m. the previous day to 5 a.m. the next morning and use unlicensed self-propelled boats to dredge sand from the riverbed.
C08 has directed its subordinate units and local police to strengthen their grasp of the situation to promptly detect and handle violations.
