According to information from the Business Department, Ninh Binh Electricity Company, the second quarter of each year is the most stressful time for the entire system's electricity supply due to the continuous occurrence of severe heat waves over a large area. The high temperature causes the demand for electricity for production and daily life to increase dramatically. In the first 6 months of 2024, the total commercial electricity output of the Company reached 1,323.81 million kWh, an increase of 17.9% over the same period in 2023. Growth is mainly from industry-construction, accounting for a high proportion (58.8%), up 20.49% over the same period; agriculture accounts for 2.9%, up 19.25% over the same period; consumer management accounts for 30.6%, up 13.23% over the same period; Service business accounted for 4.1%, up 22.9% over the same period, other activities accounted for 3.7%, up 11.91% over the same period.
To ensure peak electricity production and supply in the dry season of 2024, Ninh Binh Electricity Company has synchronously deployed technical solutions to provide stable and continuous electricity in accordance with the direction of the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Industry and Trade . At the same time, many propaganda activities on electricity saving have been implemented, such as responding to the Earth Hour Campaign with the message "Saving electricity - Making a habit"; organizing many forms of propaganda (hanging banners, slogans) ... and many practical activities to raise awareness of electricity saving in the community.
In order to proactively have a plan to promptly handle and prevent incidents, and improve the reliability of power supply, the Company has strengthened technical management and operation, equipped with modern inspection equipment such as PD discharge meters, thermal imaging cameras, and high-resolution camera-mounted aircraft for the inspection of power lines and transformer stations, promptly detecting defects on the grid. Along with that, the Company has effectively implemented solutions to repair hot power on the 22 kV medium voltage grid without power outages (Hotline repair), promptly handling defects, replacing materials and equipment to ensure safe operation, without the need to cut off power. In addition, the Company has also implemented high-pressure water insulation cleaning up to 110 kV voltage level in dusty and polluted areas that degrade insulation and have a high risk of causing incidents.
To overcome unusual incidents and equipment failures that have caused sudden power outages in the past, the Company has arranged for additional staff to be on duty to be ready to handle them, ensure the performance of tasks, and report promptly. For planned power outages to serve investment and upgrading of the power grid, Ninh Binh Power Company has made annual, monthly, and weekly plans and notified in advance to the district power companies, contractors, and construction units to combine as many work items as possible in the same power outage, while always being completely proactive in all work; fully preparing human and material resources so that the construction power outage time is minimal but the workload is the greatest, thereby improving the reliability of power supply as well as the quality of electricity services.
Ninh Binh Power Company determined that in the last 6 months of 2024, the electricity supply is expected to face many difficulties, as the load demand continues to increase, and it is also the rainy and stormy season in the Northern region. Therefore, the Company will continue to implement measures to ensure safe and continuous electricity supply for economic and political activities in the province.
Continue to strengthen the inspection and clearance of the line corridor; promptly inspect and handle existing problems on the grid such as: discharged insulation, heated joints, and points at risk of unsafety; strictly control the quality and origin of transformers, insulation, wires, and materials invested by customers in accordance with the technical standards of the Corporation and the Company. At the same time, report to the Provincial People's Committee to issue instructions and assign tasks to agencies, departments, branches and enterprises in the province to strictly implement Directive No. 20/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on enhancing electricity saving in the period of 2020 - 2025.
