On August 23, information from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City said that Pouyuen Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City) has just reported on its plan to terminate labor contracts with 1,221 workers due to the lack of orders.
According to the above plan, at the end of August, the enterprise will notify and negotiate with each worker expected to be laid off on related contents such as severance pay, salary date, social insurance regime, etc.
The severance allowance for the number of workers to be cut is the same as the previous cuts in 2023. Specifically, the company will pay for the entire time the employee works at the company, 0.8 months of salary per year (the salary for the allowance is calculated by the average of 6 months of salary before the contract is terminated).
In September, the company will close the social insurance book and complete the procedures to terminate the labor contracts with the above employees. The payment of severance benefits to employees will be made 7 days after the contract termination.

Since the end of 2022, PouYuen Vietnam has started to reduce orders, forcing workers to take turns taking days off on weekends to ensure everyone has work to do. By 2023, the order situation is still difficult, the company has had to cut labor.
The first time, the company cut more than 2,300 employees in February. The second time, the company cut more than 5,700 employees, divided into 2 phases in June and July. In total, PouYuen Vietnam cut about 8,000 employees twice.
The upcoming cut in September will be the third time PouYuen Vietnam Co., Ltd. will cut its workforce in 2023.
