On January 21, the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Gia Phong commune (Gia Vien) held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's Decision recognizing Gia Phong commune as a Safe Zone commune.
Attending the announcement ceremony were comrade Tran Song Tung, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Major General Le Quang Dao, Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard; leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches; leaders and former leaders of Gia Vien district; representatives of families of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, veteran revolutionary cadres, pre-uprising cadres, etc.
Based on historical events, historical relics and contributions of Gia Phong commune people to the revolutionary movement in the resistance war against France and the US, the Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Gia Phong commune have built a scientific dossier to submit to the competent authority for recognition as a Safe Zone commune with 4/5 criteria: Being directed by the Party Committee from the Regional Party Committee, Military Committee and above to build a Revolutionary Safe Zone; A place to live (raise, hide, keep secrets), work and lead and direct the building of the revolutionary movement in the resistance war against France and the US of comrades and cadres of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations from the Regional and Military Region levels and above; Places for stationing, training, coaching, gathering, and transit of armed forces (army, police) from company level and above, places with warehouses for storing food, provisions, weapons, equipment, military uniforms, military equipment, etc. during the resistance war against France and the US to serve the Front at campaign level or Military Region level and above; Places with strong revolutionary bases and movements during the resistance war against France and the US, and at the same time, local armed forces have proactively or coordinated with regular armed forces to organize battles against the enemy to protect the safety of cadres, agencies, and organizations of the Party and State stationed in the area or where important victorious battles took place, contributing to creating an advantageous battlefield situation for the revolution and resistance in the area and neighboring areas. On September 15, 2023, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1079/QD-TTg on recognizing Gia Phong commune as a Safe Zone commune.
At the ceremony, comrade Tran Song Tung, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented the Prime Minister's Decision and presented flowers to congratulate the Party Committee, government and people of Gia Phong commune.
Congratulating and praising the Party Committee, government and people of Gia Phong commune, the leaders of Gia Vien district affirmed that being recognized as a safe zone commune demonstrates the attention of the Party and Government to the revolutionary base area, acknowledges the contributions of the people of Gia Phong commune, creates conditions for the commune to have many opportunities to invest, develop the socio-economy, maintain security and national defense, improve the material and spiritual life of the people. At the same time, it contributes to educating the history, patriotic tradition, revolutionary spirit, and strong will for the young generation.
To be worthy of the sacrifices of generations of fathers and brothers, the people in the revolutionary base area and to effectively implement the Prime Minister's Decision, the leaders of Gia Vien district requested the Party Committee, government and people of Gia Phong commune to continue to promote the glorious tradition of the heroic homeland, solidarity, unity, focus on leading the people to overcome difficulties and challenges, exploit potentials and advantages to build Gia Phong into a commune with comprehensive development in all fields.
In the immediate future, focus on completing the 2024 goals, the goals set by the Commune Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, striving to soon be recognized as a commune that meets advanced NTM standards, model NTM standards; pay attention to improving the lives of families with meritorious services, policy families; focus on building infrastructure works, cultural and social institutions.
