At the ceremony, Head of the Central Youth Union Organizing Committee Bui Minh Tuan announced Decision No. 589 of the Central Youth Union Secretariat on the appointment of journalist Phung Cong Suong - Deputy Editor-in-Chief in charge of Tien Phong Newspaper, to hold the position of Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper from June 15, 2024. Comrade Bui Quang Huy, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee - First Secretary of the Central Youth Union, presented the Decision and flowers to congratulate journalist Phung Cong Suong.

In his acceptance speech, the new Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Phung Cong Suong, affirmed that receiving the decision to become Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of Vietnam's revolutionary press day is a very special and meaningful moment for him.

I am proud to become the head and Editor-in-Chief of a Youth Union newspaper - a newspaper born during the resistance war, a newspaper with the leading political position in the country, with a long history, a very glorious tradition, a large team of generations of writers with extensive experience and passion for the profession; a newspaper with a large readership and cherishing the good values ​​of the newspaper”, said journalist Phung Cong Suong.

The new Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong newspaper stated that this is also an extremely heavy task, with many difficulties and great challenges coming from within the newspaper and from non-traditional factors of the times. Journalist Phung Cong Suong shared: Challenges and difficulties are inevitable in the development process, the important thing is how each of us looks at the difficulties and solves them. Tien Phong newspaper has had different ups and downs throughout its development, but the general trend is to develop upwards.

In his new position, journalist Phung Cong Suong hopes to continue receiving attention, direction and strong support from the Central Youth Union Secretariat, departments and units of the Central Youth Union for the activities of Tien Phong Newspaper.

"I also hope to receive the full support and assistance of comrades in the Editorial Board, Party Committee, political organizations, unions, and all cadres, reporters, and employees of Tien Phong newspaper so that I can complete my assigned tasks," said journalist Phung Cong Suong.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Comrade Bui Quang Huy, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union, emphasized that the position of Editor-in-Chief plays an extremely important role in the newspaper's operations, and is responsible for all issues related to the newspaper. The Editor-in-Chief's responsibility is very high, not only before the provisions of the law, before the Central Youth Union Secretariat, but also before the expectations of the Editorial Board, reporters, and employees of the newspaper.

The First Secretary of the Central Youth Union hopes that Tien Phong will always be worthy of being the newspaper of the Youth Union and of young people, with a youthful and modern style, quickly approaching modern journalism trends in both content and form, on the basis of taking the purpose as the foundation, taking creativity as the criterion for its journalism activities.
