Announcing National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 at EXPO 2025 in Japan

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Vietnamese Consul General in Osaka Ngo Trinh Ha emphasized that the friendly relationship between Vietnam and Japan has a proud historical depth. In that flow, Hue city has established deep and close cooperation with many Japanese localities and cities such as Nara, Kyoto, Gifu, Yokohama, etc.

The announcement of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 at the Vietnam Exhibition House at EXPO 2025 is an opportunity for Vietnam to get closer to Japanese and international friends.

Representative of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Deputy General Representative of Vietnam at EXPO 2025 Tran Nhat Hoang said that the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 will take place throughout 2025, focusing on Hue.

With the theme “Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunities”, the event includes 170 activities on an inter-provincial, national and international scale. To contribute to promoting the National Tourism Year 2025 and Hue City at EXPO 2025, the Vietnam Exhibition House in coordination with Hue City organized a video screening introducing culture, people, economy, tourism, etc. on a system of screens inside and outside the exhibition house.

There are also activities to display traditional five-panel ao dai, perform Hue royal court music, exhibit visual arts, distribute brochures, and promote Hue tourism to visitors...

The highlight was the performance of the five-panel ao dai by the Exhibition House staff and representatives of several international booths, combined with handmade jewelry from the CAO Fine Jewellery brand stylized from images of Vietnamese bamboo trees and rice grains.

The daily uniform of the Vietnam Exhibition House staff is inspired by the traditional five-panel ao dai, born in Phu Xuan land (now Hue city), which bears the mark of Vietnamese culture and contributes to spreading cultural identity to a large number of visitors.

At the event, Mr. Tran Nhat Hoang also announced videos and clips introducing historical sites in Vietnam associated with major events of the nation, with the capital Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City... These videos and clips will be shown on the occasion of the anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification Day April 30, the anniversary of Uncle Ho's birthday May 19 and National Day September 2.

The video uses a modern graphic style, inspired by illustrations by artist Ta Huy Long, conveying the message of a peaceful, developed and integrated Vietnam.

In addition, from May 23 to 25, the Vietnam Exhibition House will coordinate with the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site to organize a photo and document exhibition called "President Ho Chi Minh - Symbol of the Era".

A part of the solemn space of the Exhibition Hall is dedicated to displaying and recreating the Vietnam-Japan relationship over the past 52 years. The Vietnam-Japan imprint in the fields of culture, tourism, life, and society is shown throughout many exhibition contents, such as the image of a Vietnamese girl wearing a white ao dai holding a lotus flower, behind which is a circle reminiscent of the land of the rising sun; Bat Trang ceramic bags with flowers arranged in Ikebana style; the painting of Hoi An Bridge Pagoda, or the image of a Honda motorbike on the streets of Vietnam... All create a space full of cultural exchange between the two countries.
