Announcing the results of the National Press Awards

On the afternoon of June 2, in Hanoi, the National Press Awards Council announced the results of the 17th National Press Awards.

Members of the Final Jury vote to evaluate works for consideration to award the 17th National Press Award in 2022.

Out of a total of 157 works in the final round, the Judging Council discussed, evaluated and voted to select 9 A prizes, 24 B prizes, 46 C prizes and a number of Consolation prizes to award.

The 17th National Press Awards Ceremony - 2022 will be held on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, June 21, 2023.

According to the assessment of the Final Jury, the entries for this year's Award met the selection criteria stated in the selection guidelines, comprehensively and deeply reflecting the political, economic, cultural, social, security, defense, and foreign affairs life of the country in 2022.

Many works are exploratory, critical, and have positive social effects; demonstrate dedication, creativity, and discovery, and attract readers. Many works are presented professionally and attractively, with the breath of modern journalism. Some outstanding works have been carefully invested in from topic, content, and form.

The Council highly appreciated the innovation in the structure and improvement of the appraisal quality of the Preliminary Council, and at the same time raised a number of issues that need to be learned for the following seasons, especially the selection work at the grassroots level and the propaganda and promotion work for some types of awards.

The National Press Awards Council, the Preliminary Council and the Final Council gave their opinions on a number of issues related to the organization of the awards. These opinions will be received and studied by the Standing Committee of the Awards Council for supplementation and adjustment in the coming time.

The National Press Award is a major event, attracting special attention from the press nationwide. It is the most prestigious award for press works, honoring authors and groups of authors with the best works every year.

The award has gone through 16 seasons accompanying the press life, becoming a truly useful professional activity, spreading widely in all levels of the association, in the press community and increasingly affirming its reputation as the most prestigious professional award for journalists nationwide.
