Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 supports ultra-fast 5G connectivity, delivering impressive CPU processing speeds and performance for photography and videography.
This is the first SoC in the Snapdragon 4 series based on the 4nm process. It uses a Kyro CPU that delivers a maximum speed of up to 2.2 GHz and offers 10% better performance than the previous generation.
The device features Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 technology, capable of charging up to 50% of the battery in just 15 minutes.
The new Snapdragon chipset supports Full-HD+ displays, a 120Hz refresh rate, electronic image stabilization, and faster autofocus. This delivers sharper, blur-free images, even with moving subjects. For the first time in Qualcomm's 4-series chips, Multi-Camera Temporal Filtering (MCTF) is integrated into the hardware, helping to reduce noise for high-quality video .
Additionally, the product offers AI enhancements such as AI-based low-light performance to deliver sharp, detailed images in low-light environments. AI-enhanced background noise cancellation ensures users can hear clearly during calls and videos.
In terms of connectivity, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 is powered by the Snapdragon X61 5G Modem-RF system and features Qualcomm Wi-Fi 5 for fast and strong Wi-Fi connectivity for gaming, livestreaming, and more.
The manufacturer stated that Xiaomi and Vivo have confirmed the use of the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC, and the first commercial devices featuring this SoC are expected to be announced in the second half of 2023. The Redmi Note 12R will be the first phone to be equipped with this processor.
