On November 6, Nokia announced that Viettel Group will use Nokia's optical transmission solutions to effectively meet the growing demand for 5G connectivity, data center connectivity, and international connectivity.
The project was implemented after Viettel successfully tested a transmission solution with Nokia's new generation PSE-6 chipset, with an optical transmission speed of up to 1.2Tb/s per wavelength in a real environment.
The project is expected to be completed in 2025 and will be used to connect Viettel's data centers in major cities, helping Viettel expand capacity and optimize operating costs.
Equipped with Nokia's most advanced 6th generation optical processing chip, the new optical transmission solution will help Viettel easily expand capacity while still ensuring outstanding network performance.
Viettel representative said that the transmission solution with Nokia's new generation PSE-6 chipset will provide the necessary capacity to meet Viettel's current and increasing needs, while helping the network operator get ready for 5G network and cloud computing.
Nokia's new generation PSE-6 chipset will help Viettel not only meet the increasing data demand in a cost-effective manner but also improve the reliability and energy efficiency of the network, said Nokia Asia Pacific Optical Network Solutions Director.
