The clip shows the nanny using her hands to punch the baby, sometimes shaking the baby vigorously… despite the baby crying weakly. At one point, the baby’s relatives were sleeping right next to the bed, but the nanny still acted suspiciously like she was abusing the baby.

According to the reporter’s investigation, the incident occurred in Nghia Do ward, Cau Giay district, Hanoi. The suspected victim of abuse was a 1.5-month-old boy.

Ms. HY (35 years old, the boy's mother) said that her son was abused for many days and she lay next to him without knowing. It was only when her mother's intuition told her to check the family's camera that she discovered the incident.

“The family was extremely shocked and hurt when they learned that their son was abused by the nanny. After extracting the camera footage, my family reported the incident to the Nghia Do Ward Police,” Ms. Y. informed.

According to Ms. Y, before that, when she was preparing to give birth to her second son, she joined a group to hire a babysitter and left her phone number. Not long after, a woman named Nguyen Thi L. (57 years old, from Tuyen Quang) proactively called to offer to babysit for hire.

“Because both parents are old, my husband decided to hire Ms. L. to take care of the children. We paid Ms. L. 8 million/month as a maid, hired from November 5. During the working process, Ms. L. always showed herself to be friendly, affectionate, often showing off her children and grandchildren, and loved children very much.

Many people contacted me to apply for a job, but my family was really unlucky to meet such a person," Ms. Y. shared.

Ms. Y. added that her family had installed a camera before and Ms. L. also knew about it. At first, Ms. Y.'s family thought that Ms. L. had only abused her son once. At that time, Ms. L. asked to stay and look after the child. However, Ms. Y.'s family did not agree and paid more than 10 million VND for Ms. L. to leave the house on December 14.

According to Ms. Y, on December 15, after her child was abused, she took the child to the National Children's Hospital for examination and the doctors there diagnosed that the child had concussion syndrome.

''When Ms. L. left, I became suspicious and reviewed the camera from many days ago and discovered the series of days the nanny abused the child, so I reported it to the police,'' Ms. L. said.

Speaking with VietNamNet reporter, a leader of Cau Giay District People's Committee said that Nghia Do Ward Police received Ms. Y's report on the afternoon of December 16 and are investigating to clarify the matter.

After receiving the information, the police asked Ms. L. to come forward but she was running away. "After watching the clip, I noticed that Ms. L. showed signs of abusing the baby. Ms. L. shaking and physically impacting the baby like that is very dangerous," the leader of the People's Committee of Cau Giay District shared.

Meanwhile, the leader of Cau Giay District Police said that they are verifying, investigating, clarifying and handling the case in accordance with the law.
