After 3 days of implementing the program "Sympathy in drought and salinity days", as of the afternoon of April 12, the working group of Tien Giang Provincial Police has supported 130m3 of domestic water, 300 barrels of purified water (21 liters); about 90,000 bottles of mineral water; 250 gifts (each worth 300,000 VND) to households in difficult circumstances.
The above water was delivered to 8 communes in Tan Phu Dong and Go Cong Dong districts, Tien Giang province.

The program was launched by the Provincial Police Department and implemented by all provincial police officers and soldiers.
The impact of this charitable activity has also spread to many kind-hearted people. There have been 50 individuals, organizations, and businesses joining the program.
After 3 days of implementing the program, 150 officers and soldiers participated, mainly from the following units: Party work and political work, Fire prevention and fighting and rescue police, Mobile police, My Tho City police in coordination with a number of provincial professional units and district police, commune police, and security and order protection forces at the grassroots level in the two districts of Go Cong Dong and Tan Phu Dong.

Tien Giang Provincial Police mobilized many vehicles such as fire trucks, tankers, provincial police trucks, three-wheeled vehicles... to transport water to Tan Phu Dong island district.
In addition, organizations in the provincial police have organized and integrated propaganda activities, instructing people on how to respond to heat, drought, water shortages, etc., promoting a sense of responsibility for environmental protection.

On April 6, Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Vinh signed a document announcing an emergency situation regarding natural disasters such as saltwater intrusion and lack of domestic water during the dry season of 2024 in Tan Phu Dong district.
The document of the Tien Giang provincial government sets out urgent measures that need to be applied immediately to respond to and overcome the consequences in order to prevent and minimize the damage caused by natural disasters. The most important task is to transport and supply water to the people in a timely manner.
The province has opened more than 100 public water taps for people to use for free. In addition, many organizations and individuals have transported charity water by truck and barge to support fresh water for people in drought-stricken areas.
