Implementing the policy of the Vietnam Border Guard Command on the programs "Helping children go to school" and "Adopted children of Border Guard Stations", the Border Guard Command of Quang Binh province has deployed them throughout the force and achieved positive results.
In the 2024-2025 school year, agencies and units under the Quang Binh Border Guard will nurture and support nearly 100 children in the two above-mentioned humanitarian programs.
Notably, for the first time, the "adopted son" of Roon Border Guard Station in Quang Trach district, Nguyen Anh Vu, was admitted to the Border Guard Academy.
Major Nguyen Son Binh, Political Commissar of Roon Border Post, said that Nguyen Anh Vu, from Quang Phu commune, Quang Trach district, is in very difficult circumstances. His parents are separated and he lives with his maternal grandmother and paternal grandmother.
When he was in 8th grade, Vu weighed only 25kg and was at high risk of dropping out of school. Knowing Vu's situation, the Command of Roon Border Guard Station decided to adopt him as their adopted son by taking him to live in the unit to care for and educate him.
The Station Command assigned the Mass Mobilization Team and members of the Youth Union to tutor the child's studies.
Thanks to his efforts in studying, Nguyen Anh Vu achieved a score of 25.4 and was admitted to the Border Guard Academy. This news made his adoptive father and the people of Quang Phu fishing village very happy.
On the eve of the new school year, the Quang Binh Border Guard Command held a meeting to honor students in the programs "Helping you go to school" and "Adopted children of the Border Guard Station" at Roon Border Guard Station.
At the meeting, congratulating Nguyen Anh Vu for his efforts to achieve excellent results, Colonel Trinh Thanh Binh, Commander of the Border Guard Command of Quang Binh province, wished that the "adopted son of the Border Guard" would continue to train and study well to become an excellent Border Guard officer, contributing to protecting the peace of the Fatherland's borders in the future.
On this occasion, the Mass Mobilization Committee of Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee, Quang Trach district and representatives of units and localities presented many gifts to Nguyen Anh Vu.
