On the afternoon of December 10, the Border Guard Party Committee of Thanh Hoa province held a conference to deploy the Resolution on leadership in performing tasks in 2025. In 2024, the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee led and directed the implementation of the work of grasping, forecasting, and accurately assessing the situation, promptly advising the Party Committee, the Border Guard Command, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial People's Committee on flexible policies and measures, properly resolving issues related to territorial sovereignty and national border security, avoiding being passive and surprised.

Notably, he has led the work of advising the Provincial People's Committee to continue to effectively implement projects and plans, contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety, and socio-economic development in the border area. Synchronously deploying management measures, firmly protecting territorial sovereignty, national border security, organizing patrols, controlling, and strictly protecting border lines, border markers, border signs, and border works; coordinating patrols, inspections, supervision, and law enforcement at sea.

Coordinate with departments and branches to advise the Provincial People's Committee to develop a Plan to implement the Government's Decision on approving the planning of border gates on the Vietnam - Laos border. Strictly implement agreements and regulations on border and border gate management. Promote the implementation of measures to prevent and combat IUU fishing.

Implement synchronously and in-depth basic professional work, focusing on improving the quality of early and remote situational awareness. Timely advise and propose policies and measures to prevent and combat enemy activities and all types of subjects; proactively handle incidents arising at the grassroots level to avoid being passive and surprised. Lead and direct the implementation of projects and plans, effectively combat all types of crimes, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety in border areas.

Leaders effectively carry out border diplomacy and people's diplomacy, contributing to building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative border for mutual development.

Effectively propagate the implementation of Directive No. 01/CT-TTg dated January 9, 2015 of the Prime Minister on organizing the movement of the entire people to participate in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the new situation. Focus on leading and implementing the Plan to build a pilot model of "Bright Border Village" in the border area of ​​Thanh Hoa province; the project "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school"; the program "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of Border Guard stations".

Directing the organization of the programs "Spring Border Guard warms the hearts of the villagers", "Spring Solidarity, Border Tet" and activities of the People's Border Guard Festival. Maintaining good coordination with departments, branches and localities, promoting the role of Border Guard station officers participating in district and commune-level Party Committees, Border Guard station party members participating in activities at border village Party cells, and taking charge of households in border areas.

Lead and direct the effective implementation of Directive No. 12/CT-UBND dated August 9, 2024 of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee on sponsoring Border Guard units in the province; Directive No. 22-CT/TU of the Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee on the Campaign to support housing construction for poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties in the province in the two years 2024 - 2025.

In 2024, the provincial Border Guard force presided over the arrest and prosecution of 33 cases/40 subjects, confiscating 4,196.613g of heroin; 48,870 synthetic drug pills; 7,979.71g of ketamine; 2,940.69g of crystal meth; 14kg of explosives; 150 detonators; 2 military guns; 100 bullets. Coordinated with the police force to arrest and prosecute 10 cases/17 subjects, confiscating 42kg of various drugs, 8,727 synthetic drug pills. Handled 151 cases/185 subjects for administrative violations. Collected more than 951 million VND to the State budget. Mobilized to recover 168 homemade guns, 1kg of lead bullets.

In the leadership direction, the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee determined to continue to do a good job of advising and effectively handling situations related to sovereignty, political security and social order and safety. Effectively implement coordination programs and Border Guard models to participate in building and consolidating political bases, developing socio-economy associated with consolidating national defense and security in border areas; build an increasingly strong all-people border defense and all-people border defense posture in border areas. Focus on leading and directing the successful organization of Party Congresses at all levels in the Provincial Border Guard. Focus on political education and ideological orientation for officers and soldiers; build a strong Provincial Border Guard Party Committee in terms of politics, ideology, organization and ethics associated with building a strong and comprehensive "Exemplary, typical" unit.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lai The Nguyen acknowledged the achievements of the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee in 2024; at the same time, he assessed that the 2025 Provincial Border Guard Party Committee's leadership resolution had forecasted and comprehensively assessed the political security situation in the border, sea and island areas.

He noted that the provincial Border Guard must strengthen political and ideological education so that each officer and soldier is clearly aware of their important position and role in the task of protecting sovereignty and building a national border defense posture; heighten vigilance and combat readiness, and avoid being passive and surprised in any situation; closely coordinate with local authorities and police and military forces in performing national defense and security tasks; and do a good job in fighting and preventing crimes, especially drug crimes.

In the coming time, the provincial Border Guard needs to do a good job of mass mobilization, consulting, participating in building and consolidating the grassroots political system, helping people in border areas develop socio-economy.
