Ms. Thu confided: "My mother has dementia, so for a long time, she has not remembered anyone or anything. In addition, my mother also has bone and joint disease, her hands and feet often shake. For the past few years, she has needed support with a tube to eat."
Ms. Thu also shared that her father - writer and poet Hoang Phu Ngoc Tuong (born in 1937) - is now old and has suffered many strokes, so the family is also mentally prepared.
Ms. Thu said: "My father had a stroke more than 20 years ago, resulting in paralysis. In recent years, he has had health problems, causing his mental and memory to deteriorate. When my mother passed away, he was not aware of it. For many years, I have always been close to take care of my grandparents."
Lam Thi My Da's daughter said that the family had planned to bring her mother's remains back to Hue. However, because the author Hoang Phu Ngoc Tuong's health was very poor, Ms. Thu could not separate him.

"I have to stay close to my father. Perhaps when he is "100 years old", the family will take both father and mother to Hue - where they have been attached for many years. At that time, we will organize a memorial night for both of them", Ms. Thu shared.
Talking about the literary legacy of poet Lam Thi My Da, her daughter said that since her mother's health no longer allowed, she has taken on the responsibility of taking care of and publishing her works.
"The family has not thought about publishing her works as a memorial, but currently, a book of her father's works is being made, expected to be released in September," said Ms. Thu.
