The Road to Becoming a Tech Billionaire of “Red Boy” Trieu Han Boi

VietNamNetVietNamNet12/11/2023

On January 31, 1977, Zhao Xin Pei was born into an ordinary working-class family in Beijing. Because his parents were busy, Xin Pei often lived with his grandmother. When he was 5 years old, he caught the eye of the director of Journey to the West (1986 version) and was invited to play the role of Hong Hai Nhi. This was the role of a lifetime for Xin Pei and countless scripts were sent to the boy after the film.

At that time, actors were paid quite well, not to mention that Han Boi's starting point was much higher than many others. However, the reality is that right after the film ended, Han Boi disappeared from the audience's sight and completely withdrew from the entertainment industry.

When he returned to Beijing to continue his studies, Xin Pei’s school offered its first computer course. Having never been exposed to this field before, Xin Pei was immediately drawn to the colorful and mysterious world. Xin Pei even begged his parents to buy him a computer.

In particular, Trieu Han Boi does not like playing games and "chatting" like his peers, but is especially interested in computer engineering, software development and design. Fortunately, Han Boi's family situation is quite good and his parents are also very progressive.

With strong support from his parents, Han Boi was absorbed in computer-related fields and constantly thought about it, forgetting about acting, his favorite pastime. Passion is the best teacher, this reflected in the young Han Boi, who quickly absorbed knowledge like a sponge.

In order to gain a deeper understanding of computers, Han Pei devoted herself to her studies and it paid off. In 1995, at the age of 18, Han Pei became a freshman in the Department of Computer Science and Technology, Peking University with excellent exam scores. Studying at a top school and having access to the best educational resources in China energized “Red Boy”.

Han Pei was like a fish in water, studying hard and practicing all the knowledge taught. A few years later, the young man once again entered the Institute of Software of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and became one of the researchers. In just 5 years, he obtained his master's and doctorate degrees there.

With outstanding achievements, Han Boi does not have to worry about life. However, he wants to do more to give back to society with the knowledge he has learned. After surveying the market, he discovered that although China is still a large agricultural country, most of the cultivation, processing and investment in agricultural products are independent of each other, making it difficult to communicate effectively and consistently.

Having identified the market demand, Han Pei immediately found friends and started a business. In July 2014, they founded Beijing Nongguanjia Technology, an agricultural technology company, with him as its chief technology officer (CTO). He wanted to develop a 4-in-1 service system, integrating finance, agricultural materials, agricultural technology and agricultural product circulation so that they could “talk to each other” and achieve great economic efficiency.

The company launched the Nongguanjia app on marketplaces and Han Pei's idea was recognized. In less than two years, Nongguanjia successfully went public. As one of the founders, the former child actor also became a billionaire.

It wasn’t until Journey to the West director Yang Jie passed away that Han Pei reappeared in public. Some viewers still regret that he gave up his acting career, but he himself did not. Instead of becoming an entertainment star, Han Pei became a star in the field of agricultural technology.

“The entertainment industry doesn’t appeal to me. I want to find like-minded friends and do something that I think is meaningful,” tech billionaire Han Boi shared.

'Dreaming' of dropping out of college: Not everyone is as successful as tech billionaire Bill Gates The story of "dropping out of college to become a billionaire" has contributed to increasing educational skepticism, causing many young people to doubt the role of formal education, especially university education. However, Bill Gates' journey is only a rare exception.
