With 3 chapters: The Road to Independence , The Road to Unification and The Road to a New Era , the program brings MVs, art performances, animations, reports, and conversations; thereby depicting the 80-year journey of building, fighting and growing of the heroic army.

Participating in the historical road art program are artists: People's Artist Quang Tho, People's Artist Ta Minh Tam, Pham Thu Ha, Duc Tuan, Thu Thuy... along with the Army Theater choir, military band, symphony orchestra and thousands of soldiers... It is estimated that nearly 3,000 people participated in this program.

Sharing at the press conference on the afternoon of December 16, in Hanoi, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television Do Thanh Hai, said that with the desire to tell touching and meaningful stories about Uncle Ho's soldiers in the past 80 years, Vietnam Television has been preparing for a long time, investing carefully in many genres for programs, films, events, and competitions on VTV 's multiple platforms.

In addition to art programs, VTV has produced and broadcast a series of documentaries on the military, exploiting many different approaches to portray the image of soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army such as: Marching under the military flag , Because they are soldiers (Army Cinema), Staying in Phong Chau ... along with that series of reports in the News bulletins...
