The Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) said that VLA shares of Van Lang Technology Investment and Development Joint Stock Company are not allowed to be traded on margin from August 21.
The reason this enterprise recorded after-tax profit for the first 6 months of 2024 and undistributed after-tax profit on June 30, 2024 of VLA was audited as a negative number.
Specifically, according to the recently announced 2024 semi-annual financial report, VLA recorded revenue of VND 2.35 billion, a sharp decrease compared to more than VND 8.8 billion in the same period.
Revenue decreased while expenses increased, causing the company to report a loss of more than 6.8 billion VND, while in the same period last year it was still positive at 203 million VND.
At the end of June 2024, VLA had a negative undistributed profit after tax of more than 3.2 billion VND.
VLA is a multi-industry business, in which selling enrichment courses is one of the main areas.

Explaining the poor business results, VLA leaders said that due to economic difficulties, the number of students participating in courses has decreased.
According to the annual report, VLA's main business areas are training in thinking skills, sales, communication, leadership, financial management, time management, and public speaking skills.
Regarding this year's training service operation plan, VLA said it will actively expand courses, increase advertising, and promote the brand.
