According to the new admission scores for the first round at the admission councils of mass high schools, 237 candidates changed from not being admitted to being admitted; 243 candidates changed from being admitted to not being admitted.
At the press conference, representatives of the leaders of Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee, Department ofEducation and Training, and Provincial Inspectorate provided information and clarified many issues that reporters from news agencies and newspapers were interested in asking questions about.
In response to concerns from the public, students, and parents about how to handle and resolve the 243 cases of candidates who were previously announced to be admitted but now failed to pass their first choice, representatives of the Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Education and Training have explained and clarified further.
Specifically, Mr. Dang Xuan Phong - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Thai Binh - said: "The Department will direct high schools, Department of Education and Training of districts and cities to do a good job of propaganda, coordinate with authorities at all levels, organizations and unions to meet students and their families to do a good job of ideological work, encourage and guide students to register to study at private high schools, Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers of districts, cities and vocational schools in the province (if needed) to ensure that all students have the right to go to school".
Candidates can still continue to study at the appropriate level if needed.
From 9:00 a.m. on August 20, the Thai Binh Department of Education and Training also announced the post-inspection score sheet to the primary school admission system.
This score is also the basis for the Thai Binh Department of Education and Training to organize admission to Thai Binh Specialized High School according to the assigned plan, and at the same time announce the benchmark score and admission round 1 (90% of the target) for 29 public high schools across the province.
"We will also organize for students to register for the second round of admission through the primary admission system from after the announcement of the first round of admission list until before 3:00 p.m. on August 23; conduct admission and announce admission for the remaining 10% of the quota on August 23," said Mr. Dang Xuan Phong - Deputy Director of the Thai Binh Department of Education and Training.
In addition, students and parents who need it can continue to submit an appeal application from August 21 to 25 to have their exam re-examined for the second time.
Candidates who fail to pass the entrance exam to public high schools and wish to apply to private high schools and district/city Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers according to their wishes will register on the primary school admission system from August 24 to August 27.
The People's Committee of Thai Binh province also directed private high schools and Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers of districts and cities to organize admission exams according to assigned quotas and report to the Department of Education and Training for approval before August 27.
“The capacity of schools in the area is enough to meet the learning needs of students. Students are equal, students study for real, take real exams, get real results... The province's viewpoint is that all candidates will continue to study if they and their families have the need, not only for these 243 candidates but also for other candidates who did not pass their first and second wishes,” Mr. Pham Van Nghiem - Vice Chairman of Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee affirmed at the press conference.
Also at the press conference, the representative of the Thai Binh Department of Education and Training said that they have been directing educational institutions to prepare well the conditions to start the 2024-2025 school year on time, without affecting the proposed school year plan.
It is expected that all schools will still be able to organize the opening ceremony of the new school year on September 5.
