Teacher accused of abusing first grader, leaving back bruised

Ba Dinh Primary School has just reported to the Department of Education and Training of Bim Son town with the following content: on the morning of October 11, the school received parent T.D.H. residing in Quarter 4, Ba Dinh Ward, Bim Son town - the father of TPN, a student in class 1B - to provide information about the incident in which Ms. Vo Thi T. - the homeroom teacher of class 1B of the school - abused TPN, leaving scratches and bruises on this student's back.

Working with the school board, teacher Vo Thi T. said that TPN brought toys to school to play during math class.

The teacher could not control herself so she twisted N's ear and patted his back and head.

On the evening of October 11, the principal and teacher T. went to the student's house to apologize to the student and his/her parents.

On October 12, the school temporarily suspended teaching for teacher T., replaced her with a new homeroom teacher and assigned her to the boarding class of class 1B.

Teacher T. has seriously reviewed and realized that her behavior violated the ethics of a teacher, accepted all forms of discipline from her superiors and took responsibility for the student's family.

On October 14, the school allowed student N. to change classes according to the parents' wishes.

Ms. Vo Dao Hoa - principal of Ba Dinh Primary School - said that teacher T. has many years of experience teaching first grade. After the incident with student N., Ms. T. was very remorseful and accepted responsibility.

"Ms. T's actions violated teachers' regulations, infringed on students' psychology and health, and affected the teachers' honor," Ms. Vo Dao Hoa affirmed.

Mr. T.D.H. - parent of TPN student - said that N.'s health and mental state are now stable and she has returned to school as usual. The family requested that superiors take appropriate measures to handle the teacher to prevent similar incidents from happening again.

Mr. Le Sy Tien - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Bim Son town - said that the town police have assigned the Ba Dinh ward police to inspect and verify the incident that occurred at Ba Dinh Primary School. After receiving the results from the police, the department will advise the town leaders to resolve the incident.
