Coming from Tuyen Quang and currently living and working in Hanoi. Thuy Duong was once known as a talented young person and the story of quitting her office job to pursue her passion for baking. Thuy Duong said that she always loved the beauty of traditional Vietnamese culture, and wanted to preserve her childhood memories, so she created unique moon cakes with the desire to recall the childhood memories of the ancient Vietnamese people.

"After 3 years of graduating, I decided to give up my dream job at a bank to pursue my passion. I opened a bakery and started my own business. One time, I accidentally saw wood carvings on social media and found my own unique style of making mooncakes. Instead of creating the usual shapes like traditional cakes, I turned each mooncake into an impressive 3D work of art," Thuy Duong shared.

Each year, Thuy Duong continues to surprise young people with a moon cake called "Memories" which simulates a typical three-room house in the Northern countryside. "This is a moon cake with green bean filling. I have to name it so people don't mistake it for a terracotta model," Thuy Duong wrote. Notably, her post received 26,000 likes after being posted on social media.

If you look at it from the front, many people will imagine that this is a house made of plaster, terracotta or other materials, not made of moon cake materials. Because the shape, color and overall view of the cake are very similar to the real thing.

"The ancient 3-room house of the Northern countryside appears vividly with old tiled roofs, mossy walls, red brick yard, banyan tree, water jars... Every corner, every object is impressively recreated with ingredients to make moon cakes," the 9X girl shared.

Thuy Duong said that she was born in a Northern countryside village. Her childhood spent with tiled roofs, yards, and walls has become an unforgettable memory. Inspired by familiar miniature landscape products, using moon cake ingredients, she decided to recreate this familiar childhood scene.

Talking about the idea and time to make this cake, Thuy Duong said that she and 3 other friends made it in 4 days. The ingredients to make the cake were available but the idea took a lot of time. Notably, Thuy Duong was the main person who made and executed this work.

"The ingredients to make this three-room house-shaped cake include: sticky rice flour, sugar, filtered water... But instead of using the traditional baked cake crust like last year, this time Thuy Duong used white sugar water according to the modern baked cake crust recipe to create vivid colors. For the cake filling, she still uses mung bean filling to make it easier to shape" - Thuy Duong revealed.

In particular, every detail on the cake is handmade, from the shape of the house, the tiles, the windows or the pillars... Thuy Duong confided: "I had to fix a lot of details on this cake, but after the product was completed, my friends and I felt very happy with the results we created."

In the near future, Thuy Duong plans to display this unique moon cake product in a place with many tourists, because she wants to spread and promote the traditional culture of Vietnamese people to everyone, especially international tourists.

Thuy Duong currently lives and works in Hanoi. She is the owner of many unique and different mooncake products. Since she was a student of banking, Duong has been passionate about baking. She attended short-term baking courses, then researched, created, and made special products. Every time she shared product images on social networks and received many compliments, she had more motivation to create.
