Recently, Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital received a patient who came for examination with both breasts swollen, red, and pus. Master, Doctor Le Thao Hien, Department of Dermatology, examined and recorded that the patient's right chest was swollen, erythematous, had a large abscess, and was painful to press. The left chest also had a mass of similar size. Ultrasound results showed images of filler scattered in soft tissue, with a large abscess.

Specifically, the patient is a 26-year-old girl living in Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City. According to the story, about 3 weeks ago, the girl saw a Facebook account in Hanoi advertising a very attractive breast augmentation filler injection service.
After contacting, the two sides agreed on price, time and staff from Hanoi went to Ho Chi Minh City to rent a hotel to inject filler for the girl and a few other guests.
The patient said he had been injected with 350cc of the solution, which cost VND25 million, into his chest. After the injection, both breasts became red and painful. He contacted a person in Hanoi who said that this was a normal sign after the injection.
About a week before being admitted to the hospital, the girl's right breast area was swollen, pus-filled, red and very painful. The patient continued to contact the person who injected her and was instructed to take some medicine and use warm water to roll on her chest, but the situation got worse.
After a few days of hospitalization, the abscess spontaneously ruptured and pus and filler material drained out. The patient was treated with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. The doctors consulted and decided to perform surgery to drain the pus.

According to Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Pham Hieu Liem, Head of the Plastic Surgery Unit, Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital, because the filler has dissolved into the tissue, the team has to handle it many times. The patient's chest will have an ugly scar, the shape of the breast will be deformed, and there is a risk of new abscesses. In addition, the left breast is also at risk of infection and abscesses.
Doctor Le Thao Hien, Department of Dermatology, Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital, said that injecting fillers to increase breast size has many potential risks for patients.
One of them can cause the patient to have a blood clot due to compression of blood vessels due to injecting too much, causing acute anemia leading to necrosis of the chest area, a blood clot due to injecting filler into the blood vessels, causing necrosis of the chest area or embolism of blood vessels in the lungs and heart leading to death.
