On September 12, Hanoi City Police said that the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force rescued 3 people from the Red River who were trapped in the middle of the Red River by the Traffic Police.
Earlier, on the evening of September 10, Ba Dinh District Police received a report that people were trapped in the sandbank area in the middle of the Red River. Immediately after that, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team deployed a command vehicle with 5 officers and soldiers to the scene to organize rescue.

Hanoi City Police also mobilized 2 motorboats (1 rescue boat and 1 traffic boat) and 10 officers and soldiers from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team on the River - Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department and the Waterway Traffic Police Team - Traffic Police Department to the scene.
Despite the rainy weather, large water flow, and strong winds, the Capital Police force proactively moved by motorboat and canoe to approach the area where the victims were trapped and coordinated and used rescue measures.
At about 19:05, 3 victims were rescued and brought to shore safely, in normal health.
It is known that the victims lived in Phuc Xa ward, Ba Dinh district. They moved to the middle of the Red River from about 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. the same day to arrange and transport their family belongings to the shore but were stuck due to the rapidly rising water.
