Kawasaki Frontale has set a price of 2 million USD to sell Chanathip Songkrasin after the Thai midfielder lost his starting position and was pursued by several clubs in his home country.

In 22 matches of Frontale since the beginning of the 2023 season, Chanathip has only played five and scored one goal. Injuries have prevented the midfielder from reaching his best physical condition, so he does not have many opportunities to compete for a place in the competition. However, Thai clubs such as Buriram United, Port FC, Bangkok United and BG Pathum United all want to recruit Chanathip.
Chanathip's contract with Frontale is valid until January 31, 2025. According to Thairath , the Japanese club wants to collect 2 million USD (about 47 billion VND) if the Thai midfielder leaves before the deadline. After Frontale made a bid, only BG Pathum United is pursuing Chanathip, and the Thai club's president Pavin Bhirombhakdi has sent an offer to Frontale.
"I am still a Frontale player under contract," Chanathip said this morning, June 12, when he returned home to join the Thai national team according to the FIFA schedule. "If I have to say more details, I cannot."
Chanathip joined Frontale in early 2022 for $3.8 million (about VND88.5 billion) - a record transfer fee between Japanese clubs at that time. However, injuries limited the 29-year-old midfielder's contribution after two seasons, when he only played 24 matches, including 18 matches in J-League 1, and scored one goal.
Before Frontale, Chanathip played for Consadole Sapporo from July 2017, on an 18-month loan contract for $500,000 from Muangthong United. In January 2019, Consadole bought Chanathip outright with a five-year contract worth $2.5 million. Here, he received the highest salary in the team and played an important role in the game with 115 matches and 14 goals.

According to German player valuation website Transfermakt , Chanathip's transfer value is currently only $1.3 million. He reached his highest value in December 2019, with $2.6 million.
Chanathip will turn 30 on October 5, 2023. He is only 1.63m tall, but he makes up for it with his skillful technique and sharp football vision. Nicknamed "Thai Messi", this player is considered the best attacking midfielder in the history of Thai football.
Chanathip started his career at BEC Tero Sansana in 2012 before moving to Muangthong United in 2016. He played 120 matches and scored 14 goals in Thai League 1. Chanathip's biggest mark was winning the Thai League 1 championship and reaching the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League with Muangthong United in 2016.
During his 7 years playing in Japan, Chanathip did not achieve any collective achievements, but was honored in the J-League 1 best team and received the Consadole Sapporo Best Player award in 2018.
At the national team level, Chanathip owns all the Southeast Asian titles from winning the AFF U19 championship in 2011, winning the SEA Games gold medal in 2013 and 2015, and winning the AFF Cup three times in 2014, 2016 and 2020.
