Da Nang Club complaints

Da Nang Club dropped the victory against The Cong Viettel (round 13 of V-League 2024 - 2025) right in the last seconds, when the home team's defense let Nham Manh Dung score a close-range goal to equalize the score 1-1 in the 90+7 minute.

Not only did Da Nang miss the chance to win the second consecutive match to narrow the gap with the group above, but they also suffered a loss in personnel. Coach Le Duc Tuan was given a red card by referee Nguyen Viet Duan and dismissed from the coaching position, due to the Da Nang team's coach's overreaction to the fourth referee Le Duc Thuan. This penalty means that coach Le Duc Tuan will be suspended from coaching for 2 matches, starting from round 14.

This red card caused coach Le Duc Tuan to not only stand in the cockpit to direct the match between Da Nang Club and Ho Chi Minh City Club (round 14).

On February 15, Da Nang FC sent a document to the VFF Disciplinary Board and Referee Board, requesting a review of the penalty for Coach Le Duc Tuan. The Han River team wants the VFF Disciplinary Board to change the red card to a yellow card, so that the young coach of Da Nang FC can still directly direct the next match.

The document stated: "In the 80th minute of the match, in a ball dispute, midfielder Emerson (Da Nang Club) was hit by a player from The Cong Viettel team and fell to the ground, but the main referee did not blow the whistle. This led to Emerson reacting and being given a yellow card. Coach Le Duc Tuan reacted to the fourth referee Le Duc Thuan to protect his team's player. However, that reaction was just a temporary emotion in a very tense match, and there were no words insulting the referee.

However, the fourth referee discussed with the main referee Nguyen Viet Duan to give a direct red card and dismiss coach Le Duc Tuan, even though the referee team had not previously reminded, warned or given a yellow card to coach Le Duc Tuan. After the match ended, coach Le Duc Tuan also had a professional attitude and came to shake hands, showing respect for the referee team as well as the tournament organizers."

Da Nang Club stated: "We respectfully request the Vietnam Football Federation, the Referee Board and the VFF Disciplinary Board to review the above situation and respectfully request that your agency reduce the disciplinary measure from a red card to a yellow card for Coach Le Duc Tuan, to ensure the seriousness of the tournament and the interests of the Club, especially for Da Nang Club which is in a very difficult situation in all aspects as it is now."

Da Nang FC is currently at the bottom of the V-League with 8 points after 13 matches. However, since Mr. Le Duc Tuan took the position of head coach, the performance of the Han River team has improved. Da Nang FC beat Binh Dinh (2-1) and drew with The Cong Viettel (1-1) to narrow the gap with Hai Phong's play-off position to 3 points.

Round 14 takes place at 6:00 p.m. on February 23, Da Nang Club continues to play at home at Tam Ky to welcome Ho Chi Minh City Club.
