Coach Nguyen Anh Duc and representatives of the coaching staff and players welcome new General Director Yusuke Adachi
Mr. Yusuke Adachi was the Technical Director (GDKT) of VFF from September 2020 until the agreement not to renew the contract from January 31, 2023 due to family reasons. However, after a year of rest, the Japanese football expert returned to Vietnam, "joining" the Binh Phuoc Club of Coach Nguyen Anh Duc.
Mr. Pham Huong Son, Chairman of Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Group, who is also Chairman of Binh Phuoc Club, said that he had high expectations when inviting Mr. Adachi to become General Director (CEO) of Binh Phuoc Club, with the ambition to elevate this team towards sustainable development, with a completely different model.
Mr. Pham Huong Son expressed: "Today is a historic day for Vietnamese football, when for the first time a professional football club has a Japanese football expert as its General Director. Binh Phuoc Club was established and born with a strong desire and love for football.
We are still struggling to find a new direction, different from the current football model in Vietnam, how to connect local football with national football, develop the movement, spread the love of football to the people of Binh Phuoc and other localities.
After much research and consideration from many sources, we decided to trust Mr. Yusuke Adachi as the General Director of Binh Phuoc Club because of his understanding and aspiration for Vietnamese football, and his humble thinking in the Japanese way of doing football.
Chairman of Binh Phuoc Club and Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Group Mr. Pham Huong Son welcomed Mr. Adachi
The club believes in Mr. Adachi's difficult but hopeful journey at Binh Phuoc Club, especially in youth training, to have a stable and sustainable source of players to contribute to Vietnamese football.
In addition, Mr. Yusuke Adachi is also interested in and aims at training cooperation programs, connecting football exchanges between Binh Phuoc Club and Japanese clubs. We hope to work with Mr. Adachi to create a young force with systematic training from the beginning, inheriting the professional football environment in Japan."
For his part, Mr. Yusuke Adachi said: "I am very grateful and happy to receive the great task and opportunity from Binh Phuoc Club President Pham Huong Son. I have worked at the Japan Football Federation (JFA), AFC, jobs related to FIFA and VFF.
Nearly 60 years ago, Japanese football focused only on the national team and won the bronze medal at the 1968 Olympics. However, 30 years later, Japanese football did not develop as expected and fell into a very difficult situation. At that time, I worked with JAF and the J-League Organizing Committee to develop Japanese football.
Mr. Yusuke Adachi when he was VFF Technical Director
I learned that when you want to develop, you should not only focus on immediate results but also build a process that is very important, you must have medium and long-term development goals. At Binh Phuoc Club, we can invest a lot in the first team, but for long-term and sustainable development, focusing on the first team alone is not enough. I had the opportunity to work and discuss with Club President Pham Huong Son and agreed that together we will create a new club model in Vietnam.
I also heard Mr. Son's wishes about medium-term and long-term goals, so that we can develop together. The potential of Vietnamese players is huge. I believe that when we have such a long-term and far-sighted vision, we will be able to create a model club in all of Asia."
After 8 rounds, Binh Phuoc team has 9 points, temporarily ranked 6/11 in the national first division season 2023 - 2024, 8 points behind the top club Da Nang.
Coach Nguyen Anh Duc's team will strive to stay in the league this year and strive to become professional in the 2024-2025 season, at the latest in the 2025-2026 season. General Director Yusuke Adachi is responsible for supporting Coach Anh Duc in the first team, completing the construction of Binh Phuoc Club's structure according to a professional model, with systematic youth training.
